This is almost exactly what we do (2 people). One keeps their hands dirty and touches “possibly contaminated” items and other only touches clean stuff. We make a huge bowl of soap water and dip stuff into it and wrap in serran wrap etc etc.

Never did any of that bullchit where you sanitized everything down that you brought home. Or that other bs like "showering as soon as you get home from any trip" sort of stuff you heard at the start of covid. Never made any sense to me. If the surface touch spread of covid (which had been considered almost non-existent even by the mainstream fear mongering narrative since fall of 2020, or so) was so bad that you had to do all that, regular use of some sanitizer wipes/spray, showering, etc. wasn't gonna do chit.

If it was anything like the fear mongering suggested, you'd have been totally fuked unless when you got home, you parked your car in a garage, threw all your clothes in a pile to be santized/washed, disinfected every surface in the area, showered down with a shower put in to said garage, disinfected everything again, and made sure every possible germ in the area (including deep cleaning the car itself inside and out) had been hosed down until you walked inside. Obviously, that now sounds almost as ridiculous as it did pre-covid.

In fact, two of the first hints that covid was a bunch of overblown bs was various exceptions the media made for fear mongering of surface touch spread of covid. I distinctly remember them saying that "covid doesn't appear to spread via food/groceries" around April 2020. By April or May 2020, they were saying it doesn't spread by mail, which was a super convenient way to make people feel safe by voting by mail and fuking with the entire 2020 election process while they were told to fear everything else due to covid.

During the beginning when we didn't know much about any of it, I did this once or twice but then stopped and just continued with using basic common sense... wash hands when dirty, before eating, don't touch face/mouth/eyes etc
