Ravens were nver going to be able to pay him after he proved himself at LT, so we had a choice between keeping him 1 year and getting a 3rd round compensation pick or this. I think this was the correct move. Having two first rounders this year, meaning potentially 2 solid starters for 4+1 years each is perfect for us to maximise Lamar's window

Makes sense for the Chiefs too, not sure he's worth the deal they will have to pay him though. He will command c. $20m a year and hes an average, not great LT. Maybe they will tag him for a year and they let him go

A trade up is now a distinct possibility. I think if someone in a position of need falls to the 15-24 range theres a chance EDC pulls the trigger.

Hell if I’m the Ravens I’d rather take the 3rd round pick from basically any of the other 31 teams vs shipping even an average reliable LT to KC for anything other than absurd compensation in return

Its a win win for both teams, yes that improves the best team in the AFC but it must have been the best offer on the table. Id rather do whats best for my team
