CNQ destroying earnings, forecasting 2021 free cash flow at $5.7-6.2billion
Cenovus reporting tomorrow, would be nice if they boosted up their dividend since I have six figures in them but am betting the Husky acquisition etc will put a bit of a damper on it
Either way, damn good numbers

Also are we all pretending grocery stocks don't do better in an inflationary environment? The higher cost of goods always gets lumped onto the consumer. Just read an article from what must be a buy side Goldman analyst who is trying to push down grocer stocks. From what I recall gas prices going up and inflation both benefit grocery stores immensely as it is the easiest way to push up revenues just by passing along added costs to consumers and once both those cost pressures recede prices usually remain sticky and are slow to drop back down.

FUTS. A shell around .035 that is starting to come out of dark status on OTC markets as they just got current with their filings.
MVNT just did the same with their filings and went up 600% with a 3 x higher OS and float.
Hearing the same entity that took COUV from .005 to $1 is now doing FUTS.
Could be magical.
As always with OTC stocks, or any stocks, do your own DD and make informed decisions.

If you would have invested in a low cost index fund tracking the market (e.g. VT or VTI if you have a USA bias) you'd have had significant appreciation in your portfolio's value.

Really only worried about expi because I’m so heavy in it. But long term I have hope. Down 4K in Tesla, but idgaf. I’ll buy more if it goes to $500.
Edit: Nvm. Almost up on Tesla now lmao.
Please don't confuse stock picking with the market as a whole. For the month of April the market appreciated in value by around 3%, or an increase of $1500 had someone hypothetically put in $50,000 near the beginning of the month and invested in a low cost market fund. There tends to be a lot of sensationalism in this thread that I think rubs off on newer folks, thethis time its differentvibe.
The individual should have the equivalent of an IPS which defines their general investment guidelines such as risk tolerance. If someone has significant earning years ahead of them then temporary losses in net value should be nothing more than inconsequential noise over a 20-40 year investment window. Furthermore, if the money gets placed in a low cost index fund that tracks the market (e.g. VT/VTI) then it would take an unprecedented event for their investment to lose half of its value in such a short time. As I said in my last post, if someone is truly worried about this type of thing happening then DCA is a perfectly reasonable approach assuming it is automated / scheduled in advance while knowing that, statistically speaking, it is likely to result in an overall higher buy in cost.

This is pretty poor advice which could cost someone a tidy sum of wealth appreciation should they sit aroundwaiting for the dip. Did you know that the S&P 500 has spent over a quarter of all trading days within 2% of its all time high?
[img]https://tubofcash.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/1x-1.png/img]
A hypothetical thought experiment with three investors who do one of the following:
a) puts their entire allotment of cash as a one-time purchase right at the top of the market before a crash
b) divides their allotment into four equal purchases (buying near the top each time)
c) divides their allotment into four equal purchases (timing the next four crashes perfectly)
Guess who comes outahead?
Spoiler!
It isn't either of the market timers
The point is, time in the market almost always beats trying to time the market. Put the entire amount of money into a low-cost index fund such as VTI if you have a US bias or VT if you do not. If personal psychology does not allow for this then setup an auto-deposit schedule over the course of a few months to take the guess-work and emotion out of the decision. There is a good chance the DCA method will result in a higher overall buy-in costs but it can server to add price protection in the event of a major market correction. How likely that is, nobody knows...

How?

Personnel costs aren't significantly higher either they just add it to their standard workflow. Walmart thinks they are able to do 3 million/week. Kroger was aiming for 1 million/week. that's 120m and 40m respectively added to each company weekly. Shot volume is probably going to fall off a cliff by the end of May, but Q1 results should be good. What’s the play?
Also it is crazy how high wages are moving for retail employees right now because of the unemployment benefits. Every corporation is trying to figure out how high they gotta move their wages to get people to show up. Inflation is going to get insane by the end of the summer IMO.

Would it be best to just trade a 401k account to avoid paying taxes until you withdraw money? brb compounding gains (if you can make them lol)
Also, GME 50DMA is at 167.5 so needs to close above that. Then the next levels become 174.50, 190, then 220. After that there is a gap fill to $330ish.
