I have a few 'fringe' friends who for whatever reason will constantly be asking me all sorts of questions about my work-life, investments, personal life etc, and seem to be competing with me


When they ask and I tell them something good (ex: just closed the biggest deal of my life, just had best income year of all time, just went out on a date with a hot chick, portfolio was up ___% last year), they immediately begin to poke holes in it, or say something sarcastic / some backhanded compliment.

This is ALWAYS people I am objectively doing "better than", at least in the areas specified (career, money, investments, etc.) Keep in mind, I am not someone to talk about these things un-solicited, and frankly prefer to stay off the topic entirely as egos inevitably are thrown into the mix.

I keep these people at a distance. I should cut them out entirely, but a few of them have redeeming qualities / are fun to hang out with once every few months. I was sort of oblivious to how some people are habitually like this. I have caught myself behaving this way in the past, and now mentally 'bitch-slap' myself when I start to manifest thoughts like that, let-alone act on them and actively try and **** on someone's parade, or do the crab in a bucket thing.

Haters gonna hate. most people are jealous of success, they'll be negative about what you've done, try to bring you down, make excuses (it was luck, blah blah) blame society and everything else for them not making it when in reality they just suck.

An old friend of mine was always b!tching about money, always behind on bills etc, saying if he could only get the opportunities I've had he'd be so much better off....

Then tax return time comes and he scores 5 grand. Think he saves any or pays off some debt? Nope, spends it all on a boat. brilliant.


Surround yourself with different people, ones with the same mindset, or even better ones that are MORE successful than you and it'll motivate you more.

You only need to invest about $2+ mil into the index fund by the age of 45 for you to have 20 mil by your retirement age. It's mindboggling that puts you at top 1% of the population. Wtf are people doing with their money?

Multiple people in real life through my whole life SRS thought it was me but realized I was surrounding myself with non-winners SRS

If you ain't SUCCESSMAXXXING I don't even talk to you SRS would rather be SOLO DOLO then a bunch of yes-men or retards holding me back or making me feel like their is something wrong me me cos they bitter and hating SRS. I am young so maybe that's why I am just learning but wish I knew sooner would probably be MOGGGMAXXXING even harder if I didn't let them distract me and get under my skin SRS. I think competition is good not to try and be better then each other and RAG on each other put to have somebody holding you accountable and pushing you do better while showing you it's possible by leading by example is hard to beat. I know what you mean SRS BRB they're telling you all the things they have done and even if they're semi-retarded or you disagree you're still supportive and as soon as you wanna share good news they don't respond or say some petty chit I always thought they were in a bad mood or maybe I said something to make them made but slowly realizing that they're threatened and it makes them insecure

I wish I learned sooner most people like you when they're doing better then you but as soon as you start doing better or passing them by and becoming the more successful one they instantly ghost SRS. I have learned nothing rustles people more then thinking that they're better then you and not only do you prove them wrong but you end up eventually doing better then them while they sit around thinking about how smart they are SRS hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work SRS. Most people have had such and easy life and are willing to settle for so little and are legit complacent with not motivation to try because everything came so easy SRS

They don't have that burning for that consumes my every thought and action to destroy and mog anybody that ever thought I was a fool and so far I have a pretty high success rate SRS

I try to avoid talking about myself as well I think it's good manners and it shows humility like I am doing it for myself and I reap the benefits I can nothing from bragging SRS

I try to be as well rounded as possible in all areas of life and I think that makes them even more made there usually isn't a single area they're better then me of course it's not a competition but as you mentioned some people haven't let go of their ego yet SRS.

I used to keep those people at a distance but I learned keeping them around at all was negative enough and now I am on that SOLODOLO time SRS.

Yeah, It is really pathetic and unmanly to parade around chitting on people or ridding in on your high horse unless it is for the LOLZ.

An old friend of mine was always b!tching about money, always behind on bills etc, saying if he could only get the opportunities I've had he'd be so much better off....

Then tax return time comes and he scores 5 grand. Think he saves any or pays off some debt? Nope, spends it all on a boat. brilliant.


Surround yourself with different people, ones with the same mindset, or even better ones that are MORE successful than you and it'll motivate you more.
Exactly, Not only are they jealous of success and your prosperity and abundance but they're mad that they're to retard to do simple things to improve their life I remember sometimes getting frustrated when it seemed like other people were able to do good and it seemed like they were barley trying when I was struggling to get things right but once I realized instead of making excuses if I just held myself accountable and took responsibility for my life there was no reason why I couldn't do if if people way stupider or less advantaged then me could do it SURELY there is no reason why I couldn't and I dove into personal development and really started taking fitness serious and in the span of a few short years I turn myself into a MONSTER.

I know exactly what you mean BRB leases a car way more expensive then they can afford takes a bunch of vacations DEBTMAXXXS BRB unexpected 300$ bill ruins his whole entire month and non-stop complains about how things are unfair just LOL

My retarded neighbors have really CHITTY bug screens for their windows like the mesh material is so sun bleached it's practically WHITE and BIG rips and tears in it SRS almost all of them would literally cost probably 100$ MAX to go down to lower or ace hardware and get them redone they had a semi older but not OLD car that had some front left fender quarter panel damage on the front drivers side and NEVER fixed it when it would literally cost a couple hundred SRS instead they BOUGHT a brand new car when they can't even fix their window screens or a little body work on their car and they're BOTH grown as fook with kids living in a town house it's pretty pathetic how retarded some people are LIKE I could literally not make this up I know exactly what you mean SRS.

Money is looking for a nice place to stay SRS lol at selling things you can't afford because you CONSOOMERMAXXXED to hard and are broke SRS.

Cut everybody off SRS but so hard to find TOP TEIR people I've found plenty of people who aren't as jealous and bitter but so far none of them are truly SUCCESSMAXXXING mostly just saving money and not living above their means which is good but hard to relate to people who CONSOOMERMAXXX for fun and aren't working towards anything SRS considering I don't watch or own a TV SRS and I generally dislike movies and such seems like all these peasants do it talk about netflix series no exaggeration.
