Small Bench PR Reps Til Out

240lbs x1
165lbs 4x10

All done today. Last PR some time ago was 230lbs and I've never done multiple sets of 10 with 165lbs lol. I probably could have got 5x10 with it but I decided to fight another day. The x1 wasn't a grinder but I wanted to walk away with a positive session. No need to get stoopid. This was no belt, sleeves, wrist wraps or anything. Butt to bench, slight arch, decent drop to my chest, fired it up and back to lockout. Feels goodman.jpg

EDIT: 5/14/2021
245lbs x1 (RPE 9.5)
175lbs 4x10 (Last Rep Was Minor Form Breakdown)

No need to rep, OP. GJDM. I'm gonna be going back to the gym soon after a long layoff, so I'm excited to get myself back into shape and in a healthier mindset.

Nope I got you back bro. I hear you. I got lucky and bought my Rogue SML-2, bar and used iron in like 2014. But I'll be honest some imbalances are showing and I could really use some dumbbell work. The fire never dies out man. You'll be back under the bar soon.

On R/C bro. Just ran out with 0rders up there. Yeah. I'm going to keep going. I got one of those cable/pully setups from Amazon for iso tricep and back work. And then I'm going to keep hitting top x3-x1 to prime and keep hitting the volume. If I can get to the point of hitting 185lbs for sets of 8 and especially 10 I'll then know I'm on the right track. I want to be leaf that I have 275lbs x1 or even 315lbs x1 in me but I have to keep chipping away.

245lbs x1 (RPE 9.5)
175lbs 4x10 (Last Rep Was Minor Form Breakdown)

Dat creatine doe.

Not sure whats going on but I snagged another little PR. Fought it a lil bit with my right tricep but not badbrad. 225lbs x1 is moving, do I dare say it, very very well. Almost to where I can bang it out when ever. Then with the 175lbs 4x10, I guess I could have called it on the 8th to 9th rep but when you're so close to perfecting a session nomsayin?

Reps on me.

Man, I can almost sense being able to rep 225lbs for a solid set of 5. I think the added strength has come from doing a push press to a top x3 and then strict press back off volume on a separate day. Going to keep working that in as well. I've really honed in my hand placement too for the single and then rep work.

Nice, but how are you only doing 165 for 4x10 with a 240 max?

I was doing 165 for 14 when I had a 231 max

Well done lad. I've been cutting for about 10 weeks but still managing to keep strength up on presses which are normally the first thing to fall off for me. Down 15# and only lost about 5-10# off my 1rm. Hopefully that's a sign of good things to come when I start eating again in a couple weeks. Been doing similar programming on my flat press days, work up to a heavy single, double or triple and then bang out some rep work. Usually 2 rep sets, first around the 5-8 rep range followed by a burnout 15-20 repper.

yeah I was thinking that, he needs to go harder on the weight when getting the reps in. Maybe mix it up top, do sets of 8 sometimes

255lbs x1 - (Grinder With Left Side Bout 3.50 Sec)
185lbs 2x10 - 1x8

Yeah as far as the sets of 10, I started light. With like a rep or two left relative to my current strength. Today was where the wall stood in front of me.

Huge PR's today bros. Was going to shoot for 250lbs. Doe cuz anger and life sucking dick, I threw 5lbs more on just to really secure that PR! I have NEVER done 185lbs x10 let alone 2x10 + 1x8. I remember when 185lbs 5x3, which inflamed the fook out of my right shoulder and caused me to reset hard, was the weight of the world.

255lbs actually didn't feel heavy. I might have warmed up to it too long as I rep out in the beginning with the bar, make 30lb jumps and taper the reps. Or maybe I just wasn't completely recovered from my 4x10 volume. But I had to grind it out with my left side. So even though I got it, it's still a failed rep. But I'll get there!

Gonna eat like a mofo, do some shoulders and back today, probably tomorrow, rest and then see what I got.

GJDM. I'm regaining my old strength from a weak 275x1 to 315x1 with good technique.
Keep it coming.

Yessir. Didn't get shoulders in. Did some BB rows, cable rows and 2x15 of curls with the bar for today. Rest up, fuel up and be ready to hit it hard tomorrow with the same secondary movements.

I hadn't weighed myself in quite a while but as long as my waist on my pants doesn't start to feel tighter, I figure I hover between 225lbs and 235lbs. I had been wanting to get a scale for a while and with your post it made me do so. Got one from Jeff Bezos, weighed myself in the morning a few days ago and I was 231lbs n change. So after a decent day at work I'm probably sub 230lbs. Not bad but not great obviously. I'd like to stay on this path I have going and do a hard cut to like 200lbs +/-.
