My cleaning lady’s son bought the dog and they both are realizing they can’t spend enough time to train and give the dog a good active life

Huskies are one of the most energetic breeds out there. They were made to drag sleighs for miles on end nonstop in the snow.
But nah let's ignore doing research, let's pick up a dog that looks aesthetic, then get rid of him afterwards. Even if it ends up in a shelter and gets killed. i mean it's only a 10 year + commitment right?

That’s One of the things I hate most about this state. Everyone buys husky’s cause they’re cute and uconn and doesn’t realize how much work they are. After pit bulls they’re the second most popular breed in shelters.

The amount of idiots who got bored during quarantine and got their first dog is amazing.

Unless you were already planning on getting one and it turned out to be the perfect time since you had a lot more free time, but that is not what most people did.

My parents have 2 neighbours who got their first dogs because their little kids wanted a pet, one decided on a German Shepard and the other decided on a Doberman/King Corso mix....

I'm actually surprised both families still have the dogs a year later but I don't think either will last much longer.

Mine? She didn't sell the dogs to just anyone, provided support 24/7 and made a big 80 person whatsapp group for owners. She's obligated by a contract to find a home for the dogs in case something happens, and the dogs are aesthetic as **** because they're actual showdogs.
Also, she'd forbid doing things like just dropping off a dog to some person. It's like a car with a license, and you have to do it officially.

If I were OP I'd see if I also could convince them to still keep it. You can keep a husky reasonably happy even if it's in an apartment as long as you give it a minmum of 1 hour long brisk walk and at least 2 short walks for toilet needs every day. They'd probably need to get a trainer too, so walking it isn't annoying.
