Coin crackdown is on (I explained this weeks ago)

Tesla withdrew BTC because of sanctions violations.

All companies will stop taking bitcoin this week, The notice from the Fed came out this week to them, Either stop or have a CDD program, which for tesla would cost a billion dollars every couple of years.

The US right now has officially sent the message that using these coins to buy products is over.

Actually, bank transfers require the bank, the middleman. BTC is truly peer to peer. There is nothing in the middle. So, you're wrong.

This analysis of how expensive and pointless anti-money laundering efforts are makes good sense to me.

But odds are that we will continue to spend a lot of time and money making life needlessly difficult for no good reason.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidbi...h=1d92c6493111
Yet although we are only intercepting a miserable one percent of the dirty money, the costs that the regime impose on the finance sector are staggering. And these enormous costs achieve virtually nothing. The Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing (ML/TF) regime is, according to the Journal of Financial Crime 25(2), "almost completely ineffective in disrupting illicit finances and serious crime”.

Worse still, as Paul and Lisa indicate, not only does the regime we have now do little to hamper terrorists, money launderers, drug dealers, corrupt politicians or mafia treasurers, it does massively inconvenience law-abiding citizens going about their daily business. As is pointed out by a paper in the Journal of Money Laundering Control 17(3), the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) identification principles, guidance and practices have resulted in "largely bureaucratic" processes that do not ensure that identity fraud is effectively prevented. Were strict identification requirements to be imposed everywhere and in all circumstances, though, there would be an even more negative impact on financial inclusion because of the barriers that Lisa referred to. How would this factor in cost-benefit analysis?

(The issue of cost-benefit analysis is an important one, but I don’t want to get side-tracked here. Suffice to note that I saw a presentation from my old friend Michael Mainelli a decade back when he reported on a City of London study on the cost-benefit of AML, noting that in common with other similar studies that it was unable to find any benefits at all, only costs.)

(There are other negative impacts from the current “high walls” approach. I remember a discussion with the then-Treasury minister Andrea Leadsom at techUK back in 2015, during which she noted that CDD is itself a friction against a more competitive financial services sector because it serves to create a moat around the larger incumbents.)
The author essentially argues that we should reduce the barriers that keep people outside of the official financial system and instead use AI to monitor financial activity and spot fraud/money laundering.

All the other coins are tied to Bitcoin's success. If you look at what happened yesterday/today, all of them followed the exact same trend bitcoin did. Strong drop, slight increase and then another gradual drop and rise. You could overlay the graphs on top of one another.
