Will Trance ever make a comeback?





There was still some good trance in the 2010’s but I feel like the genre has lost its soul. Kinda sucks realizing society is so obsessed with money and being popular that we may lose more and more talented musicians to more popular genres. That and the lack of attention spans from today’s youth.

It got pretty big during the Zyzz era. Not just on the misc but also in Vegas. I haven’t been to a rave in years but I’m assuming trance is dead in the scene.

I’ve heard some good Aly & Fila stuff recently as well as The Noble Six. But seems like it’s getting harder to find some top tier stuff without hearing a bunch of crap first.

But I admit the genre has taken a backseat in the EDM world. I've been either listening to retro/synthwave or the slightly older Monstercat stuff.

Yeah there is definitely a lot of garbage out there now, that’s why it’s a good to find a few great djs and monkey branch from there. Most will do weekly mixes, and when you stumble across a great track check out other stuff from the dj that produced it. Aly and Fila still do great work. John 00 Fleming has a good mix and usually mixes in heavy with progressive and also frequently has guest djs. Gai Barone does great stuff on the progressive side and drops a Patterns mix every week. Solarstone drops a lot of mixes with good stuff and does a good job of mixing in new tracks. Same with Paul Oakenfold. And David Gradwdell is horribly underrated. I could go on and on, but basically just pointing out that a lot of good music is still getting made and there are ways to minimize the sh!t/hit ratio you have to go through to find it.
