It's pretty hilarious tbh. He's basically admitting Tesla put billions into something they did no due diligence on. Then he is completely FUDing a percentage of Tesla's holdings. I'm fairly certain this breaks the SEC agreement he has regarding his Twitter account.

Eventually the reactionaries will have all sold their holdings and his tweets will have minimal / no effect on the market.

Coinbase Custody took it on last week. About to break out of this gorgeous 30-month accumulation pattern on the BTC pair. Once it does, it's clear sky above and anyone's guess how high it will go. Currently rank 117, belongs in the top 30 quite comfortably.

Most TA guys I listen to are calling for sub-40k at this point.

Putting that aside, if you've been in this space since before 2017, it should be relatively easy to detect an overheated market that's due for a strong downturn. This Doge business has played out exactly like Q4 2017.

It also takes a long time to build up a DAPP ecosystem, and devs have to get familiar with whatever language will be used for the DApps.

ETH has developed an ecosystem since 2015, Polkadot has one ready to go, BSC is slowly building one and has a higher transaction volume than ETH, Cardano is going to hijack ETH's, Wanchain is building one, Solana, etc. They will all be flourishing long before BTC's layer 2 smart contract platform is ready for developers.

This is why I bought ETH in early 2017 and didn’t buy BTC. I did buy BTC later as a hedge though, idk really what value it will continue to be assigned.

I do not want BTC to crash though. That isn’t good for any crypto.

Define crash. I'm not saying you're guilty of this but it amuses me when crypto folks throw around hyperboles without relevance.

Aggressive devaluation. Eg BTC crashes to <$1000 within 5 years.

BTC stability is important for other crypto right now. I’m fine with it maintaining it’s market cap and ETH etc bypassing it.

BTC already has a form of smart contract implementation built into the protocol. That's part of what taproot upgrade is about. It gives more privacy to end users using them.

What metrics are you using to quantify utility?

We are talking about smart contract capabilities that allow DApps to be built. I'm sure you will agree that something like Uniswap, AAVE, Aavegotchi, Pancakeswap, etc, can't be built on Layer 1, and there is no Layer 2 solution even close to offering that capability for Bitcoin.
What metrics are you using to quantify utility?
The amount of applications and smart contracts in use.

Look at Ethereum's applications and smart contracts, and look at Bitcoin's.

Ethereum can do what Bitcoin can do, but Bitcoin can't do what Ethereum can do. (Wallet to Wallet transactions are faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, even if you chose to pay the 'fast' fee in metamask it's still cheaper.)

Why do you keep saying the Lightning network cannot scale? You can easily look up the metrics yourself.

The fact all other chains have to make themselves EVM compatible to even have a chance in this space tells you who the winner already is.
