Increasing Minimum Wage is just dumb for no educationcels

People don't seem to understand this fact. If you increase the minimum wage you won't get more money to spend on frivolous activities. That cost of milk that you are used paying for will go up. The cost of diapers, food, baby products etc all will go up.

Companies have to increase cost for products in order to pay forYOURminimum wage. Minimum wage is like the floor. If you raise the floor then the entire house goes up higher. So those gains people think they will get will just equalize to where they are now.

Why don't people understand this?


My wife's job at Bank of America says min wage will be $25 bux an hour.

brb a 16 year old in high school making 52k a year. That's more than graduates out of college make. Hell even some Master degree students like social workers dont even make that.

Negged, not even close to the truth. Purchasing power stays the same or increases when you increase the minimum wage to something reasonable. **** used to be a lot cheaper before and many places had the equivalent of 22$ per hour minimum (inflation adjusted). Corps cannot just jack up product price in competitive industries. Also their margins are already big enough to "survive" paying a living wage.

Ever seen the wages in nordic countries? You can make a career working at McDonalds.

They have more professionals and billionares per capita. Ease of doing business is higher. Net worths are higher. Welfare is better. The population is more productive.

**** is expensive but people can easily afford it (higher purchasing power per person)

I would love to see governments decrease inflation. Just look at coins. Of what value is coins decades from now? And a lot of big banks are getting rid of coin machines. Bring back the value of a dollar. Nobody in increase will ever want to try to introduce deflation?

Negged, not even close to the truth. Purchasing power decreases in the middle class and lower class unemployment increases when you add a price floor on labor. That's why we have such a big trade deficit and inefficient attempts at automation that don't do much to decrease the cost of living. Chit used to be a lot cheaper before because we weren't overtaxed and overregulated. America was once the largest export economy and creditor, now we are largest importer and debtor because of libtards like you who cannot understand economics.

Corps cannot jack up prices in competitive industries but we don't have one due to government creating these monopolies through grants and research, as well as overtaxation and overregulation killing small business. No, their margins are not "big enough". Amazon can only afford to raise the wages of every single one of it's employees by a few dollars at the cost of NEVER expanding and being satisfied with ZERO net profit.

BRB singapore one of highest minimum wages compared to GDP (behind ireland, luxembourg)

Also, don't bring up the lack of an official min wage in some of these places. This is because the labor unions make sure there is a defacto minimum. Substantially higher than here at that.

Geneva is a big city full of libtards like yourself. You can look up plenty of tripadvisor complaints of expensive food. Almost the entire rest of the country has no minimum wage.

Singapore literally has ZERO minimum wage laws with very minor exceptions: cleaning and security.

Labor unions do not make a minimum wage. They negotiate with the employer to come to an agreement on what the workers should be paid, as would an individual worker do in a free market. The difference is that the labor union has a monopoly on labor and twists the employer to pay a premium, of which the workers give to the union in fees. No one wins in this instance except the labor union.

I started working right when min wage was starting to be aggressively increased. It went from like 6 bucks to 10 something in a matter of 5 years. Always pissed me off.. I was getting raises based on my work ethic every year, and some dumb kunt with no ambition was always a dollar or so an hour behind me.

Yeah no ****, Geneva is expensive if you don't earn the Geneva wage (good less tourists).

You can say the unions are the only ones winning, but look at all other stats relating to purchasing power and poverty and you will see your retardedness. You must be a GDPcel who uses general economic indicators to judge success instead of the quality of life.

Maybe Jerome Powell has a good quality of life because of our amazing indicators, not the homelesscels who are taunted by the copious volumes of unoccupied units in our cities.

The US is very different compared to Switzerland. Much of the South is still impoverished and recovering from the effects of the Civil War and the failures of Reconstruction. We also have large amounts of economic migrants and cultural differences in many of our states which are bigger than entire European countries. Most poverty we have in America has been manufactured from single motherhood, delinquency, and welfare benefits from Democrat policies in the 60's "War on Poverty" in certain communities.
