EDIT: My best anecdoate is boomer neighbors talking about dodge within the past week, reminds me of shoe shine boy. Makes me think the easy mines been made.
Call it a ponzi call it speculation. it doesn't matter. If enough people have crypto and the utility makes it a better choice, we won't be speculating anymore. rather we will have a baseline for its true value and then it can act more like traditional markets where people are trying to buy undervalued stocks and sell over valued.

If your boomber neighbor are just now talking about cypto....that should show you the potential. crypto has been around for 10 years and a lot of people don't know what it is and how it can be used.

Its not that I doubt a few coins have long term potential - all sings, in almost all markets look hot as hell. And if you notice, crypto (bitcoin typically as that is where there is the most institutional money) has been reacting to yield moves in treasuries, so its already a traditional market. Now the smaller coins, you can consider analogous to penny stocks.

well it shouldn't be a surprise that cypto reactions to yield moves because its so intertwined with fiat right now. Either way, it's still very volatile....which you don't really get that much variance from your large company stocks. Once the true value is known, it won't be a "speculation" anymore. What is the true value? We don't know it yet....I think it's true value is higher than what it currently is. That's why Ive been a semi bullish on it (mostly just DCA and buying on the dips though).

But to go back to your original post...i don't need to convince you of anything. i'm not basing my investments on how you are feeling lol. And in terms of the risk i'm taking....my crypto assets are now about 3.5% of my total portfolio. I won't be screwed if I lose it all, but it could be very well likely that my biggest earner.

Lotta posts didn't age well in here - where you at bag holders? Thought our ponzi was going higher?

Ouch to those cardano/btc/eth folks, they'll bet sitting for a while before breakeven if you were buying last week
