interesting... a week or so ago this wasnt the case. I don't always log in when i browse... we are in the end times.

Its because the tech companies and major search engines like google punish anyone who opposes sjw culture so bb.com has to do this now. You can still view other sections of the forum without logging in, just not the misc.

I think it's more than that, Google and its subsidiaries have adopted a policy of banning any users that oppose government statements on covid. Anything that goes against the official stance of the CDC is reason for banning.

It's really hard to find stuff on Google these days, especially if it is political. There is so much marketing and propaganda, searching anything remotely related to covid will give you built-in messages from the WHO which is undoubtedly corrupt.

Even on some topics like American slavery there is censorship, I have to use DuckDuckGo sometimes just to track down academic sources that have been censored. Google search is built into my browser though and was such a ubiquitous part of my upbringing.

Maybe it would not be a great leap to stop using their search, but I also rely on their email services, cloud storage, and online word processing software. Not to mention using YouTube which is a Google subsidiary.

I'm convince the founders of Google are not good businessmen, just extremely lucky. If you look at how many good ideas they've run into the ground over the years it paints a picture of really incompetent management. But since they have the supervoting shares, they never get ousted no matter how much investor capital they waste...

Yeah and that's their golden goose. Then they go and blow chitloads of that money on failed technology like
- Google Plus
- Google Wave
- Google Glass
- Waymo

Not to mention allowing their employees to unionize, no way that's going to come back to bite them. (You'd think they'd have learned from the auto companies.)

IMO they should stop blowing all their investors' cash on their founder's crazy schemes and start paying a dividend and buying back shares.

They seem like successful businessmen, but they also operate a virtual monopoly like Microsoft. Any healthy competition was wiped out when the dot com bubble burst.

It's just now this monopoly has threatened the free nature of the web. It has become a tool for corporate and government propaganda just like every other form of mass media.

Google has become so bold as to openly censor political dissidence, and what's worse is that it comes from a group of international imperialists, the UN, and not just one nation like Chinese government censorship. China's corrupting influence on the UN is evident in the WHO's denial of Taiwanese independence.

Something that seems like an interesting development are the discussions and efforts to build a new internet that is completely decentralized like a blockchain network. We need open channels for political dissidence in order to hold governments accountable, otherwise we will be living in some nightmarish international dictatorship that is spearheaded by the most authoritarian nations.

Blame yahoo, they could have bought google many years ago but the chinese ceo was stingy and scoffed at the 50 million dollar asking price, he did the same for ********, zuckerberg was willing to sell for 20 million to yahoo.

Its all yahoo fault now they are no longer the powerhouse, everyone uses google search and yahoo is only worth 500 million now when before it was valued at 25 billion.

Google, ******** and amazon, are not failing, they are just learning from the mistakes of yahoo who refused to buyout small competition. What google is doing is buying out competition before they rise like they did, yahoo refused googles offer and yahoo sunk while google rose. Big businesses do this on purpose to them losing ten billion in buying out companies is nothing because in the long run they will eliminate competition and just make that money back in a quarter.
