Book discussion: Sex and Culture. Why cultures decline

Book from the 1930's, good read:

Anthropologist examines the data from 86 societies and civilizations to see if there is a relationship between sexual freedom and the flourishing of cultures.

Cliffs: Giving more sexual freedom to women destroys society.

Other interesting conclusions;

- Chastity/virginity was important and was strongly correlated with flourishing cultures

- "absolute monogamy" was key

- When a cultural change happens, for example more sexual freedom, the full effects of this will only be realized until the third generation

- Other more traditional cultures with less/no female sexual freedom easily dominate and take over the liberal culture

Western cultures are doing fine in these areas despite straying away from chastity for the most part

Maybe the cultural decline really isn't because of sex as a whole, but the expectation of instant (vs. delayed) gratification.
