Florida is also not cheaper than California. Gas was a little bit less but everything else from food to utilities are about the same.

And good luck finding a house on palm beach for under $3 million. I liked Brickell but it's too latino.

WTF? Florida has basements alrite...they are called SINKHOLES. Whole fkn state is limestone underneath which degrades/erodes over time. Houses sinking in all over, gators walking thru your yard and if you are south of Orlando..fkn Anacondas and Boas all over. Hell, take away the deadly animals - you got face eating zombies and meth heads all over. That's why I wear TaPout gear with my cargos/flipflops whenever i head to that god forsaken state.

which part of CA are you talking about?

So cal and Bay Area are definitely more expensive than most comparable places in Florida.

In Brickell you could get a wrap-around Condo overseeing the water at all angles for for under 1M. That same place in Santa Monica would be going for 3-4M+

Was looking at places in Miami and you could get a semi mansion for 800K.

800K gets you a shack in LA these days.

The summer heat isn't for everyone. It's roasting hot and humid 5 months out of the year. Fall hurricanes keep you on edge too. From what I've been told by realtors there are a good number of halfbacks. Halfback meaning people came to Florida, found it was to hot, and moved to Tennessee or somewhere halfback from where they came from.

One downside to any tropical climate is the huge bugs.

I heard about these "Palmetto Bugs", which is how Florida tries to fancy up their cockroach problem. Saw something like 40% of all houses in Florida have roaches (Palmetto bugs) and it broke my heart.

When I was a kid we were dirt poor and I grew up with roaches for about 8 years of my life. I've been absolutely scarred by those little devils. I have a ton of awful stories about roaches from my childhood. Anyways, my wife and I were deadset on moving to Florida, then I heard about the roaches. I don't know anymore. If I moved 1800 miles to "paradise", and the house I bought got roaches I would probably rope.

Can anyone aware me on what parts of the state have the roaches worst? I was interested in anywhere along the coast from Sarasota to Venice.

For roaches North Florida is probably the worst tbh. But lettuce be reality, roaches are everywhere in the south/Florida.

I actually have a lot of respect for him, as that's basically the same lifestyle as me. Living way below means, high quality of life. But it does seem to get boringl after a while, and I would probably eventually take on some golddigger who would try to ruin my life lol.

Lol people complaining about the heat. It’s like low mid 80s most they year even winter. It pretty much only hit in the 90+ range in the summer. The only cons in Florida is the bugs and mosquitoes

Imagine living somewhere where it’s warm for three months and having mosquitoes. That’s Canada.

Nice place to visit, but wouldnt want to live there.

One downside is you never experience what Florida is about if you don't have a boat.

Someone once told not to even bother going down without a boat. Went there last year and brought a boat with me...I would have gone mad not being on the water in the Keys.
