Part of my young adulthood that I'll never forget. Back when I became a mod it was the most exciting thing being in the admin team of one of the biggest shooting stars on the internet.

I wish newbies could see what this place was like 10-15 years ago in the glory days. We were fuking HUGE. You have no idea how amazing the misc was.

lol i remember back in mid 2010 or 2011 there was a push to update the site so that the misc would work better.... aka add a notification bell to tel you when people replied to you and fix the search bar.

but naa this **** stayed the same since the 1890s

I remember when forum buddy came out (chrome extension that did that) it was a huge deal

year or two later people found out it had some kind of malware or something that helped mine crypto or some chit lmaoooo

i guess we have 2 paths here

Option 1. The misc can remain as is. Obviously us *******s who post now have been here forever. We can continue posting until we die and this place stays alive pretty much how it is now. We will no longer see reds making chit threads because new accounts have to request permission to access the misc. Ideally the misc should be viewable without signing in, but at the same time it allows us to chit post in here without the need of tough moderation.

There are many other forums that have off-topic sections that require 50 post minimum and there's an NSFW tag etc. We have also been in the news a lot in the past. All of that is prefaced with "a popular bodybuilding.com message board". We're the bad boys of this forum.

Option 2.

We are in maximum security prison. The mods have us boxed in and any future ban will be our lethal injection, a perma ban. Our quality posters start dropping day after day for arbitrary ban reasons. We have no new members because the mods will not approve any requests to enter. When one of our boys drop you will be banned if you question why they were banned.

We try to form a mass exodus but the OP of the thread keeps getting banned and eventually we are left scattered all over the web once the misc is finally shut down. Godspeed boys.

all the 20 year olds are in their 30's now, they have families and chit to tend to. no more club stories, no more sloot stories, no more getting yucky. The internet is a different place now. It's all about promotion, getting attention at all costs... trying to become an 'internet star'.

We were lucky to apart of that special era when sharing stories online was exciting and new. It was a way to release after our 'normal' days. Now, the internet is with us everyday. It's no longer an out, it's who we are. Now, it's all... for lack of a better word, commercialized.

edit: griggz made a good point. I rememember g0ogling something back then and bb misc results always came up. Soon enough, the site will rank lower and lower and won't show up on search results anymore. Then, it's truly over.
