Shoe = 10 (Edit ooof 2 pairs of shoes is 10)
Guy = 3
Whistle(?) = 2

10+10+10 = 30
10 + 5 (3+2) + 5 (3+2) = 20
5 (3+2) + 4 (2+2) + 4 (2+2) = 13
5 + 3 x 2 = 16 or 26 (10+6 or 13x2)

IIRC without brackets you do the first sum first, which would make it 26. (Edit multiplications first actually)

At first I noticed that the purple object wasn't always the same, then that it was two objects. I then noticed that in some places the man also had that object on his neck. Then it was working out the respective values of the man and the object, started with man (4) and whistle (1), which didn't work but 3 (man) and whistle (2) did.

Edit: Lol after all that I still missed the one shoe. Also found through the other answers that multiplications should be first.

So it's 5 + [3 x 2] = 11

This description mentions a cat, when we have a guy here and it also says in the last line TEN +... and there's no mention of only 1 shoe in the last equation. I got an 11 right off the bat cause I believe i did this test a long time ago (I even got it there).

Warren Buffet clearly isn't a mathematician as this test isn't mathematically accurate (the whistle is supposed to be next to the guy, not on him).

edit: took a second look; it's 15. I don't think the ability to recognize carny/parlor tricks at first glance is indicative of IQ, more so experience.

edit 2: it is 11 lol. Got it 3rd try. Point still stands; it's a parlor trick. Very, very few people would get that on the first try unless they'd seen it before, or were a legitimate genius. So pretty much it filters for either savvy, experienced veterans, or geniuses. Makes sense.
