Hey concert fam! It's been a while with no bumps. How's everyone holding up with no concerts on the horizon? Went to 5 in 2019 so wasn't planning on any this year and really glad I didn't get any tickets and then get cancelled. Anyone have that happen? Do you think we'll ever get big stadium concerts back?

Had tickets to Tool, Deftones and AR Rahman.

All canceled.

I feel like sports with fans in attendance will be back sooner than concerts

Rage Against the Machine was supposed to be touring this year. Not sure if they got in any shows before the plague.

As if rock/alternative music wasn't already struggling. Their bread bread and butter is basically touring and merch sales. They don't have the luxury of album sales and other social media tie ins.

When they return including sporting events audiences will be at 25% capacity, spread out and absolutely no moshing no crowd surfing. That Ban according to rock feed few days ago.

Had other shows I was going to Wrestlemania, some Hockey games been cancelled.

I would attend a capacity capped sporting event before a concert. Unless it's of the acoustic variety.

Oh that's a lot of concerts cancelled on you. That sucks.Yeah, without album and merch sales who knows if it'll survive this. I think it's going to be quite a while before they'll be able to tour again.

Well, I don't mind the no moshing or crowd surfing. Will just be really hard to get tickets with 25% capacity. They'll sell out so fast. Sorry your sports stuff got cancelled.

Yeah an acoustic show would be ok with a capped capacity. Can't imagine a full scale rock show capped at 25%.

It will be months (6+) before we see concerts in any capacity.

Who the f*ck is going to go on the road with any type of meaningful production for 25% of ticket sales?!

It's better than nothing. I could see some of the bigger name bands going the residency route. Playing multiple shows in one venue.

I mean playing several shows in one city. Saves on logistics.

Kind of like how some artists do the Vegas residency

Ahhhh I see. Yeah, that would prob be a good idea, but would really limit people seeing them from other areas.

Feelsbad. We had a big concert that was originally rescheduled for fall when Corona hit cancel for good this year. I wasn't going, but it sucks that it looks like there will be no more concerts this year.

Anyones areas having the drive in concerts? Mine is having some this month and early Sept. Shinedowns Brent Smith and Zach Meyers are doing one at the big stadium. Not the same as a regular concert but better than nothing, IMO. I originally was not going to go to any concerts this year because last year I went to 5, but I think I might look into tickets for this.

Yeah, there's been a lot of online stuff. I haven't watched any. My radio station has a Saturday night thing where they play a full concert by different bands every week.

Awesome! This is so great concerts are coming back. I tried to get genesis tix but they sold out in 10-15 min. Then they added a 2nd show but they went on sale same time as Halestorm and I wanted Halestorm/Evanescence more.

Our governor has spoken out against this, but promoters are trying to encourage vaccination in our state by overcharging on ticket prices. $18 if you got the shots; $1,000 if you haven’t.
I want to get back in the shows still, including UFC and WWE is going live again in July - a 25 city tour.
I don’t know if it’s like that elsewhere.

Da fuq????? How can they even do that when ticket sales are online? The prices have def gone up and the fees are ridiculous. I think for Halestorm/Evenascence it was like $25. in fees per ticket. Then add in parking which is usually around $40. Adds up fast. Sadly the prices are going to make me have to miss a lot of shows I'd want to see.

Support the bands and the venues this summer/fall brahs. Being a touring musician or running a small/independent music venue is NOT a high paying gig and not being able to tour has hurt the whole industry.
Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.
