Just lol at wasting time to drive somewhere to get your oil changed, waiting for them to change it, hope minimum wage employee that doesn't give a chit about your vehicle to do it right.

Disagree. I always use synthetic, so saves $60 and I'm way faster than taking it somewhere waiting for them to do it. And they never let all the old oil out. Just most of it.Started doing my own when a shop forgot to put an oil filter back on.I got about a mile before the car stopped.

I've been getting oil changed, it's only $30. Is a tire rotation really necessary though? Feel like it's pointless.

The tools are 3ft away in my tool box. Not like I have to dig for them. Honestly, yeah, funneling the old oil takes the most time, probably a minute or two. Throw the old oil in the trunk and drop it off next time I run other errands. You could also stack a few containers of old oil and make less trips...
My oil change would be done before you got to wherever you went to get your oil changed.

These low life oil change places are notorious for ****ing up your chit. When I was about 20, I started making enough money to pay to have my oil changed. Took it to Wal Mart for three oil changes. I was inspecting my vehicle one day when I noticed it had the same oil filter on it from when I changed it last. I had to use the screw driver method because it was stuck fast from being on too long. I also realized that I was paying for the package that replaces wiper blades, checks and fills washer fluid etc, and NONE of that chit was being done.
These places are constantly getting busted for their employees doing chit jobs that will **** up your car. It’s not uncommon to find these places draining oil, putting in new oil, but not changing the filter.
It’s not the money, necessarily, it’s the peace of mind knowing YOU did it and that you did a damn good job at it.

Took my truck into a mechanic when I was 17. They ended up charging me $1000 by replacing parts that were totally fine, using cheap parts but charging retail, and doing a chitty job overall. Didn't even fix the problem that I brought it in for, and just said "sorry we couldnt find anything wrong." I was young at the time and just walked out like a cuck and down 1k. Will never take my vehicle to a mechanic again.
Replace everything from brakes to head gaskets all myself. fk mechanics. dead srs.
Buy some good tools, watch some youtube videos, browse some car/truck forums, and you can do just about anything.
