I am ceo 10k a day and still change my own oil. Takes 15 minutes to do, and I'm dirty anyways
BRB driving 15 mins there, waiting half hour then driving another 15 mins home just to change my oil when I can do it in the comfort of my own property while saving time and money

Changing the oil on a truck is easy. You should do it yourself so you can inspect the suspension, break lines, tires, and underbody of the vehicle.
You should never have to ask yourself, "What's that noise?" You should know the sound is coming from the ball joint with the torn boot failing. Or you saw oil leaking from a strut, somewhere on the engine block, on the trans, etc.
If you have a check engine light, you can borrow a scanner from an auto parts store or buy a Bluetooth one for ~$15. Search for the problem.
Often the repair will involve the same level of mechanical skill needed to do an oil change. There will be forum posts and YouTube videos showing the entire process.
If the oil filter on your car sucks to get to, FKN LOL at being outright deluded enough to think it's getting replaced. No one wants to burn the chit out of their arm reaching through a hot exhaust pipe to unscrew a filter full of hot oil that's attached to a hot engine. Not doing it yourself is a recipe for engine problems.

My GM dealer comes to my house (20 min away) to pick up my truck to do it and brings it back. Plus, if i want a loaner for something important they will bring me that for the day for free. Lol if you ain't got nothing better to do like smashing prime cunny or drinking beer/vodka to save $20. Some things just aren't worth it. I've done it too many times as a young'n trying to pinch pennies. Fuk that.

if you have the garage and ramps or jacks and don't mind doing it, then yeah, I'd recommend changing your own oil over going to a quick lube or walmart.
as others have said, they won't always change your filter, especially if its not easy to get to, they overtigthen the drain bolt with their impact wrenches which strips it over time and causes leaks, etc
either take it to a top tier shop/dealer or do it yourself

Not worth it to change your own oil. + my mechanic has a chance to take a look at my car at the same time and let me know if anything looks off.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*

Another reason to change your own oil is if you have a chit load of things to change.
four stroke engines I own:
2 vehicles
2 ATVs
Honda Generator
2 Honda fire pumps
2 Lawn mowers
250 hp outboard
50 hp outboard
5 hp outboard
1.8 liter supercharged engine in my waverunner
Probably a few I am missing.
If I am doing all that, what's two more vehicles? Because there is zero chance I am dragging all the other stuff to a shop to have the fking oil changed...

Ew Walmart. They fuq so many of my customers’ chit up in the auto department. One time, a guy comes in fuming and said they forgot to put a new oil filter back on. Where did he have his oil changed? Walmart.

I dont change my own oil b/c the landlords are nazis about any car maintenance/repairs on the premises, and get especially upset about oil stains (yes theyll check my assigned parking spot upon moving out and take it out of my deposit if they think it needs to be cleaned). When I go get my oil changed I buy my own filter from the Honda stealership and go to a valveoline on my way home from work. The guy that works there is a friend of the family so I trust that he does a good job.

If I didn’t take my truck in for oil changes how would I get my windshield wiper fluid?
Actually my number one complaint about buying my ford. They only put like a cup or two of windshield wiper fluid at my first oil change for new truck. I put 60k miles on my outback and never once had to add wiper fluid. Do they actually expect me to be on top of this?
They also do some tire rotation thing, but idk if that’s important, never had a truck before.
