Money does NOT bring happiness
Just spoke to my manager and she has notified me that I will be getting a 5% increase in my pay as well as a bonus.
I was like, meh, was not phased at all by it.
To think back to my early 20's when I'd do anything for a penny and let money control and destroy my life, to now actually being happy; whole and complete, within my self.
I am already happy with the company I work with, also have a nice brand new company car to use, etc - then to think that some of my friends re probably on 100+K, sniffing and drinking their tears away.
There is no money that can make a man happy - happiness can only come from within.
I'm grateful that I give zero f*cks about money.

Money in and of itself won't make you happy. If you're a boring person with no hobbies/friends, you'll be a miserable bish whether you make $50K or $500K. What money does is open up new doors you didn't know existed, which may help you find happiness/fulfillment in life.

happiness is a mindset. Some potato farmer in Idaho who just makes ends meet but supports his family is probably happier than some investment banker in NYC making 500k and working 70 hours a week.

“Whoever said money can't buy happiness didn't know where to shop.” srs.
Telling me a guy with has a penthouse view over central park or brickel miami or bel air and a Laferrari and Patek Nautilus 5980 on his wrist while 3 to 5 10/10 insta models on rotation would say the same?
But... I do have to admit money cant buy is love and health srs.

Personally what I like about a job is work-life balance. I'm prepared to work hard at any job but when I come back home, I'd like to spend quality time with my family. If a job prevents me from doing that(even a 6-7 figure salary job), then I'll still be terribly unhappy.

Basically what I am saying is that I am happy from within.
I would rather be getting paid 40K now than 80-90K when I was 20 years old(SRS).
Money literally cannot make you happy.
Right now I am just happy and don't feel compelled to spend money.

What I'm saying is that I got rid of my greed, and the thought-form/demon which had possessed me, compelling me to behave erratically.
As evidenced by above negative responses the demon is trying to get back in, for the thought-form is trying to resonate with my Being.
I'm grateful to have a roof over my head, enough food, a car, and a good job with colleagues I like an admire - I could not be happier at this point in my life.
Having more money would not make me happier at all is the point of my life - the insatiable desire of ego is vanishing.

I'm worried. My parents are almost elderly - I'm pretty much a loner, single, my family don't keep in touch that much etc. Once my old dears go I will be alone with nobody in the world in my corner. Women my age beginning to lose fertility and younger women are now above my level so I can't have lots of kids to give me meaning. I should have put more time into developing human connections and a strong social circle. Money is nothing; brings no substance. We are mostly all atomised individualistic millennial scum with no real reason to go on. We were all gonna make it but nobody actually knew what making it looked like.

Yes it does. Money buys everything. Good food, beautiful women, personal trainers, awesome electronics, vacations, allows you to go do different things.
Anyone that thinks money doesn’t bring happiness simply does not know how to use it correctly

Agree 350% op. It matters a lot for basic needs and security. But living a simpler life without excess, etc can be done. The most important things are the relationships you have with other people.
Ded fkn srs. Speaking as someone who has very few & somewhat fragmented relationships with anybody.
I'm younger but my family is very broken. Weak social circle currently too. Really have spent more time thinking about how human connection is the most important thing, at least for me, rather than any materialism or status. Often I wish I had a simple life in a village with wooden houses and a strong community, opposed to the opposite. When this pandemic is done I really need to find some belonging with other people.
Hoping we both make it brah.

I'm in a position where I have exited all debt except mortgage, and am only a few years away from eliminating mortgage.
I pulled an addition $20K net for may tha normal.
That money did not change my life one point for better or for worse.

Yeah this whole website is negatively polarised and that's why it drew me in when I was younger.
This shows the fruits of my labour though, I spend 7-8 years in hell to basically never go back there again - you get presented a lesson and learn it, and move on to the next.
You're better of making 50k a year and being happy and content, without actually needing to spend money to not feel bored, than to be on 150k, driving an AMG, and racking up the dept.
To be honest, I feel that most of you guys who are hoping to make lots of money are just using it as an excuse or way to overcompensate for a short coming such as a lack of masculinity, confidence, and charisma.

Yeah i have tons of money, tons of vacation, a nice ass car/PC man cave, a huge TV, a 5k car stereo and a bunch of other stuff but it doesn't make me happy. Some days i'm fine going into work but then i have days like today where i just wonder what is the point of this? There's no incentive anymore.

Money can't buy you happiness or love - you just end up having more money and then obsessing over it.
