How hard is a help desk job!?
I am trying to learn new skill and break into IT.
I have basic computer knowledge.
My friend can get me a interview for a union helpdesk job. I dont have my a+ But my friend just told me to lie.
How hard would this be?

It’s mostly experience. You can learn some of it, but troubleshooting and implementing new projects will mostly lean on your experience.
As far as lying about a certification, I don’t recommend it. If they require it, just show you have the competency that the certification implies.

Relatively easy. If you can build a machine, know how to install an operating system, and troubleshoot basic issues with your own PC, you can do the job.

For the govt, any monkey can be tier 1. Essentially log the ticket, look in the system if it’s something simple to fix at your level, if not or if you’re autist, elevate to tier 2 and call it good. Whether or not you can learn and make it to higher echelons is on you.
That said, this is govt, and contracted work so the bar is low.

Then again, I’m a sys admin, and I’m convinced like 90% of help desks’ jobs are a joke.

I would only hire interns with that lack of experience.
I only interview Level II and Infrastructure, not including Security.

Brahs what certifications to get for a noob? And where to get them from? Like which ones are recognized by employers. I'm in Toronto Canada if that matters. I've had a help desk job before, or at least something similar at a call centre managing a bunch of retards through skype and helping them navigate the dialer software. Ideal for me would be a job where I can sit on my ass at a desk or at home on the computer with as little human interaction as possible. I'm down for tech support though still if that's my only option.
