The majority of people who call themselves bodybuilders AND powerlifters are weak and have no aesthetics. I mean seriously...if you walk into a commercial gym how many people there actually even look like they exercise?

1. Drugs means you don't have to get stronger to build muscle, the stimulus can just be increased dose.
2. Powerlifting is all about embarrassing tricks to shorten the ROM. Getting a fat belly so that you can touch the bar to your chest closer or pulling sumo doesn't make you stronger but it does let you lift more weight.
Exactly my point of your natty it don’t make a difference the cringiest **** is when newbs copy the bs workouts that pro bodybuilders do where all they do is play around with cables and lightweight dumbells and they never make any kinda gains lol

Powerlifters to the average person are indistinguishable from an obese fat ass who hasn’t picked up anything other than a keyboard. Especially to women.

Sure someone who has been around the gym can tell a strong fat person compared to a fat person. But even then it’s unimpressive. If I see a fat phuck doubling my bench I don’t think “whoa that guy is strong”, I think “whoa, thank god I’m not a fat phuck”

Bodybuilding wins for aesthetics, and contrary to popular belief being a bodybuilder will give you well above average athletic abilities that translate to other sports

They require explosiveness, speed, strength, balance, mobility/flexibility.

Honestly if you’re natty the biggest difference is if you care about PL you need to incorporate 1-3 rep sets. That’s pretty much it. Size = strength for a natty...the overlap is huge

So when natties say “I train for size” or “I train for strength”....you train for both. They’re inseparable

Only a small minority of gym goers get overly autistic about either past the first year or so of working out. After awhile lifting weights turns into another way to look better naked and destress, that's it.

There’s powerlifters who are lean.

I personally train in both PL and BB and would never subject myself to look like a slob.

Lots of people who call themselves “powerlifters” are actually just fatasses who go to the gym and do low rep sets of the big 3. Most of those guys don’t compete

Someone who competes in powerlifting and is good at it realises the importance of maximising body composition when sticking to a weight class. More muscle and less fat at the same weight class is only going to be an advantage.

Fat gains and loss of body composition only become inevitable in the higher weight classes. I’m talking north of the 242 class and the SHW class

Some of the no AVI responses in here are comical.

I've competed and have a bunch of trophies. Ideally you train with a healthy level of bodyfat, it's good for your joints and recovery. If you want to lean out for meet day only go down 1 weight class then carb up.

There's no ultra lean Powerlifters because that will ruin your joints and lead to serious injuries.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

I walked up to the fence when my son was catching once, was wearing a tank and I turned around - every milf eye was on me.

I was traveling for work and signed up for a free 1 week trial at a local gym in a pretty crowded suburb. When I was pretty casually benching the Hundo DB's you would have thought El Chapo entered the building.

I dunno Man, I'm a showoff and totally get off on it.
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.
