Do you have to work all the time when you're 40+
Until 40 it's easy to chill at home but at 40 it's unlikely anyones parents are gonna be able to do much for them. How can you make it to so you don't have to work every single week when you're older? When was the last time you had a month off to not have to give a chit about anything?
If you make 40/hr as a tradie then you wouldn't have to work as many hours to sustain, but if you go about things like that aren't you pretty much doomed? Other things I can think of, seasonal work and go on EI which is actually really good from what I hear and will get you through full seasons without having to work an hour.
I really can't see myself punching in for YEARS straight and never ending up unemployed from leaving a job, and since it's not a layoff I don't qualify for EI. What the hell am I gonna do? How the hell do you people hold this **** together?

Can someone please help me I dont have a father to ask these questions to. How do you survive out here? My dad killed himself and always said how much he hated work. I can't believe this is a daily requirement for life at a certain point

Last spring/summer my job kept us home for 3 months for safety from covid. Got paid in full every week and didn't have to work from home at all, just chilled, hiked, and surfed.
Right now I'm suspended from work for 2 months and while it sucks I'm not getting paid for it this time, it is awesome to have every single day entirely to myself to do whatever I want.
I need to figure out a way to get at least 2-3 months off from work each year while still getting paid in full. This is my goal in life.

Invest, srs.
Say you start at age 25, $0 saved, $0 debt. If over 15 years you've, on average, invested $35k a year with 10% annual return, you'd have $1.2 million by age 40. If you do $50k instead on average annually it'd be $1.75 million by age 40.
Once you're around $2 million net worth, you can pretty much live off of your investments. Though I'd feel more comfortable doing so with $3 million.
How do you achieve the above? Keep your costs of living low, relative to your income. Enough to where you can realistically expect to invest $3k+ a month on average per year. Might require roommates, advancing in your career, maybe even living with the parents for a little while, living in a cheaper area with less taxes and lower CoL.
Go look at some bank statements and realize how much you're spending a month on things. See where you can cut corners and save, even if it's $50/mo here and there, or $15/mo for a subscription you aren't even using, etc. Try to set up a budget, especially for your nights out and fun.

OP, given your post history I understand you're recently out of jail and have basically no skills or money.
Based on this information, I would say your best options are to go to trade school or try to find another high-paying blue-collar job. If you can get in with a union that's even better.
You will probably have to go to school for a couple years for the good trades. While you're in school, consider moving to a state with low cost of living and a strong safety net, like Arkansas, Nebraska, or Iowa.
