Non-techies and nerds stay out FRENS only.

Faurk, BOYOS. Hold me, Feels train coming in hard. Took my CCNA exam today and barley failed but feeling such mixed emotions was WAY easier then expected but there was also ALOT of things not covered in the OCG or Required a deeper understanding then what was in the OCG learned alot from the OCG but it is practically useless for passing the exam. Gonna regroup and fill in the knowledge gaps with a few resources and try testing again soon MY biggest fear was addressing and subnetting for IPv4 since I am not good with math and no calculator but there was only like 1 question and VIRTUALLY no topology questions almost ENTIRELY drag and drop and multiple choice on concepts or non-default configuration stuff ALSO very little trouble shooting as well.

Might even hit the dispensary after this BRUTAL life DENYING event.

Hopefully, I make it in the next 9 or so months or it may be time for me to ROPE. srs.

I got my CCNA in 2001, I recall back then Cisco Press had an "Exam Preparation Guide" and a "Certification Guide". The latter was trash. the former much better. If it is still like that, use that. Check out Todd Lammle's stuff too.

Kind of confused that it was way easier than you expected but you still failed. You need to go into those things nervous but confident. Also, you can use scratch paper correct? For any networking exam where that’s the case you should always spend the first minute whipping up a quick chart. If you don’t know how to do that watch Professor Messer’s video on 7 Second Subnetting.


That being said, yeah it sucks that you failed but that should make you that much more prepared for your next attempt. Dive back in for 5-6 months and it’s still possible to get your certification by the end of the year, so from that aspect try to look at the big picture. In that sense there probably isn’t much difference between getting it at the end of 2021 as opposed to the middle.

Did you take 200-301 or the old one...?! I thought it was surprisingly easy compared to what I expected but really feeling like the OCG failed me since there was a lot of things not covered at all or more complex then examples in the book was really nervous about subnetting and addressing because I am kinda chit with math but was only like 1 question seemed like alot of WLAN and OSPF only a few routing questions and mostly concepts and non-default configuration.

I don't have any degree or experience so I think that might have hurt me as well.

729 out of 825 for the record perhaps more then 1 0r 2 away but very close none the less fair but of SDA and SDN as well. seemed like some areas it PRACTICALLY ignored while others barleys covering at all.
