They clearly want the forums to die and this along with other steps they have taken over the years is the best way they know how without pissing off people, which a very small portion still buy supps off their store.

This is exactly how Reddit kills off subreddits they don't like by "quarantining" them, hiding them from search results and the front page so no new members join. Someone needs to create a backup misc.

It's a shame too, forums have been declining as whole because of social media and reddit, so when you have an active forum the last thing you should do is try to kill it.

I hope the obvious alts don't get let in. they just spam the same bad threads day after day. The misc is so much better without them.
Another option is to only allow threads to be made by people with at least 100-200 posts on the misc, to reduce the spam.
