Keeping it sensible, a GT350 or 1le (objectively better chassis than the 350) , stay the fukk away from decades old boomer vettes if you expect any luxuries or modern driving aids
C7 GS would be fun too, you don't need a z06 or a c8 if you plan to do twisties and occasionally track day or freeway runs

Buying a 2018 or 19 corvette ZO6 this year with the 7 speed manual right after I close on a house. I’m so amped to finally get one. My DD will still be my 2015 C300 Benz. Love having a sports car to play around with. Not personally a fan of what they did to the C8 styling.

When you go past the speed limit on public roads, you are putting others in danger. You have ZERO control on the other variables.
Take ur wack ass "sports" car to a track if you want to drive with no rules(even then there's rules, lol)
The older you get, the more mature your driving should become. It's why they have lower insurance rates. We got Flex over here acting like a 15 year old.

Had this conversation with my friends growing up. We'd tear up country roads and old fields quite a bit. We thought we were better drivers for it. Controlling a car that is out of control. Learning the mechanics of controlled tail spins etc. It's one thing weaving through traffic with your car vs finding less traveled and abandoned roads bro.

I agree with you that pushing your car to the limit on empty country roads is a great way to learn about driving, but ITS NOT NEEDED. The dangers from public roads are limited simply by obeying basic speed limit laws. And you will never have to deal with your car going out of control if you don't drive in bad weather.
I don't have insurance myself because I'm an EXCELLENT driver. I understand driving, physics, and statistics. And I can tell you, safe driving is VERY easy, even a grandma can do it. But it all starts with following LAWS. And you have to have intelligence to understand the importance of LAWS and why they exist, which is why I brought age into it since experience would lead you to think they'd know better.

Any idiot notes that speed is a huge risk, but it's not the only component. It doesn't matter if you're on public roads or private roads. Driving period is a risk the driver of any car takes. Whether you're going 75mph legally on the interstate in an SUV or on a private race course, you're taking a risk of a tire blowing at any moment. At least with a sports car, you likely won't roll the vehicle.
Did you know the insurance on a corvette is typically lower than most vehicles? Why...because the owners are competent and are actually less risky than other drivers. So don't come preaching here about speed being the main component of accidents when one of the biggest market sectors (insurance companies) think otherwise.
Perfect example of risk on a private track:

The chances of me being at fault and injuring someone is almost zero. I drive a certain way that is very safe.
Insurance companies have already calculated the risk by age groups. As you get older, statistically you're suppose drive less dangerously and have more experience. That's why the premium is lower.
In fact, I theorized that having insurance makes you less safe of a driver.

Tires don't just "blow" up like the way you describe. If you properly take care of them, blows can only happen due to hitting a curb or a big pothole. If they blow for unknown reasons, the manufacturer is held liable, not me. You obviously don't know much about tires.
And the chances of me getting tboned by an illegal is slim to none. They actually have to drive safer due to getting caught. If im hit, it will be by a citizen, which then gets taken to small claims court if they have no insurance.
Also my English degree was how I'm about to know all of this. Why'd you think a high IQ person like myself would choose it over STEM?
