Update on my Carvana thread I made last week.

Some may remember, I made a thread asking for experiences with Carvana, CarMax, ect.... Felt really skeptical, and the offers were too good to be true. Got some good input. Unfortunately the search function on this site is awful and I can't find that thread again, so I'm making a new one.

Original offer for my wifes van was $24601 on 6/1, set to be picked up on 6/8. Cool......

- night before I had it in for a good detailing due to be paranoid and not wanting to give any reason for Carvana to screw me.
- pickup van, touch screen entertainment center won't turn on. I rage out.
- professional detailer said he'd cover costs to repair, which wouldn't matter because it's under warranty and it's getting sold in 14 hours.
- I have a rage episode not believing my luck.
- wife is calmer, and says " Let's just cancel and submit for an update offer from Carvana
- I called Carvana CS to explain and ask why the suggest, agreed with my wife.
- Submit the information including noting that the touch screen doesn't turn on.
- new offer was $25,570
- ??????????????????????????????? wtf
- accept and setup appointment for 6/10
- Carvana lady comes, spends like 10 minutes taking pictures, confirming information and chatting with is.
- we sign paperwork and money is instantly deposited into our account
- I'm taken back at how simple it was and that we ended up getting almost $1K more.

Overall 10/10 experience, would recommend.

Used car market has been going up a lot and will for another few weeks. The increased offer came from this change, not the small cost of repairs.

You probably could have just not told the lady, and she would not have noticed.

Had no idea WTF Carvana even was until I just looked at the website.

Did you upgrade from the minivan to a Hellcat?

das it mane. Carvana is the chit - I just hope they figure out a way to make money soon so they don't go out of business.

I read the first half of your bullets three times and still can't figure out what the hell you're writing. The second half makes no sense, the first half just seems like gibberish.

Carmax crew checking in, would definitely at least get a quote from Carvana. They are trying so aggressively to capture market share & right now that means paying good money for used cars since there's so little inventory.

GJDM on the extra $1000, drinks are on JUGGS this weekend boys.

I did get a few quotes - Carvana, CarMax, GiveMeTheVin, and a couple dealers. Everyone else was 21-23K, Carvana was by far the highest. It definitely varies by model however. I priced around for my dads truck and Carmax was the highest.

Definitely glad I followed the advice to get multiple quotes even though my first was the highest.

Damn I always thought private was the was to go buying or selling. Then again it probably is still the way to go for me since I got old cars. Your van must be only a couple years old to get that kind of money that's a nice deal.
