I like it. Big fan of minimalism myself. Just buy quality and highly versatile pieces. Makes life a lot simpler and you are always wearing your best/favorite stuff. Sometimes I realize I'm not wearing like 50%+ of my closet unless I completely run out of laundry. All that stuff needs to be given away. Speaking of laundry, this is one issue that can arise with a minimalist wardrobe. If you go to the gym 4-5 days a week, but only have 2 pairs of gym shorts, that could become a problem unless you wash clothes every couple days. So, lifestyle is very important when deciding what to include in wardrobe .

I define 6 categories:

1) Supermarket type of stuff and cheap generic = Ebay, George Asda (Americucks read buying T-Shirts from Costco or some ****)

2) Budget clothing retailers = Primark, HnM

3) Middle point, middle price type of joints = Uniqlo

4) A bit more than middle point = Zara or whatever

5) Entry-level designers (whoever they are)

6) Your designer Gucci, LV whatever



Most of my t-shirt, socks, underwear, hoodies = 1)

Long-sleeve formal, sweaters and casual shirts and pants = 2)

Sneakers I do the classic white clean look from generic brands like Adidas (stan smiths), Nike (air force one) etc; for formal shoes, I do 2x black derbies from Clarks = I guess that is 2) tier type of shoes.

For a winter jacket and denim jackets I tend to invest a tad bit more = a North Face or Columbia Jacket on sale, and a Levis denim jacket which I guess is 3) type of clothes.


I am very pleased with the quality to price/essentials availability of this configuration and I see no reason why I would ever go beyond category 3). Uniqlo is probably great (=bang for the buck) for jackets, suits or something like a formal coat.
