$470 for my dog teeth cleaning FML

Anybody wanna buy a 5-year-old long hair GSD for $10 LOL?

Taking my dog to the vet tomorrow for his annual shots and gonna finally let them do his teeth cleaning. Total gonna be like $900.

They have been recommending it for the past two years and I've noticed some tartar on his teeth and even a black spot so gonna have to let them do it. If they have to do any extractions it will be $630 instead of $470. Def gonna start brushing his teeth no matter how much the little ****er hates it.

Never had any of my dogs' teeth cleaned. The risk of anesthesia especially as they get older outweighs any benefits of teeth cleaning.

If the teeth are not broken, infected or causing pain when they eat...don't do it.

Our labs made it 12-15 years without teeth problems.

I am definitely gonna be brushing his teeth from now on at least 2-3 times a week. Not trying to spend $500 every year.

If you can't afford to keep a dog healthy with regular vet visits don't get one plain and simple

Better to pay for a cleaning now rather than wait until you have to pay to get all their teeth extracted from rotting

I had a lab that lived for 18 years that went to a vet exactly twice in her life and never once had her teeth cleaned. Her teeth were fine.

A dogs teeth shouldn't just be "rotting".

Never brushed their teeth. Just fed them very high quality dry food along with 1/2 lb of chicken breast each day.

For treats they only got Carolina Prime Pet Chicken Breast & Sweet 'Tater Fillets Dog Treats.

this. had to pay close to $2k in the 90's for cleaning + extraction.

chewing bones, dry food, and toys don't always help keep teeth clean.

I don’t trust Petsmart at all. There’s been several dogs that have died during their grooming service.

If they can’t basic grooming done without killing the dog, no way would I trust them with anything health related.
