I was really into eyedea back in early 2000's (i think) when he was around freestyling. I don't have any of his studio albums but I'm sure i've heard his early stuff. Not to sure what hes up to lately.. aware me!

Aesop rock, again I listened to him when I was younger.. I think it's his voice/flow that put me off

TBH not at all, I just don't have the time or the money to.

There are channels on youtube that have nothing but cool songs to sample from, I used to make entire days of just searching youtube for samples.

Not a ton, I'd say I have like 150-200 songs etc I'd like to sample, ranging from American, foreign, different genres, movie/TV show/cartoon etc. music.

Now imagine trying to get all that stuff through vinyl, how much time, money and effort it would take.

I do get that vinyl is gonna give you a much more pure sound, but to for me that would be more of a "we're interested in your song but need a better mix" type deal that would compel me to resample said song from vinyl- I'd need to be making money.

Anyways IDK what your tastes are like but if you'd like some sample I can probably point you in the right direction.

Mirin brah. There's no right or wrong way to make hip hop, I have gone as far as sampling a song of a dvd (old cowboy movie) onto a tape deck and then back onto computer.
Anyways IDK what your tastes are like but if you'd like some sample I can probably point you in the right direction.
I like to sample from less 'traditional' sources and try and find something unrecognisable.

When I first started I was just looping stuff, but now I like to chop it up a bit more. I still learn something new everytime I make a new track.

Youtube is great to get drum breaks quickly, with good sound quality.

Best thing I realized regarding drum breaks was that you could just download compilations.

Like go find a top 10, or top 20 drum breaks of all-time compilation.

The drum breaks are all there, relatively isolated, you don't have to download them all, find them in the songs, etc all you have to do is chop them ex:



I mean really though there are limitless sources to sample from, doesn't have to be specifically from songs.

I too listened to that album ALOT, I think most of the brahs ITT did, absolute classic.

Most of those samples (if not all) came from 'Shogun Assassin'





But the sample from Scarface on Hell's Wind Staff / Killah Hills 10304 mixed with GZA's story telling abilities
