Everyone knows that "slavery sucked for the slaves".

Show me evidence that "systemic racism" exists in this country?

Since we're federalizing Texas holidays, can we also federalize San Jacinto Day?

We gonna pretend like black on black crime isn't the #1 killer of blacks outside of health issues? Sounds like you want to just ignore the problem.

agree with it.
this will make up for mashing Washington and Lincoln's birthdays into presidents day.
we had two days off in February long time ago.
now, just one.

yes, i know Lincoln's was never a federal holiday, but NY used to recognize it.
February around here sucks we need extra days off.

Of course he does... they all do.

But they'll get on their soapboxes and pat themselves on the back over systemic raycsm 24/7. Entire zip codes in most major cities are legit free fire zones with black people dropping like flies... but do they GAF?

do you think presidents day reminds people of anything other than great sales on summer patio furniture and washer/dryer combo's?

I'm all for it. You can't go wrong with some good BBQ, fun and games, singing, reciting Emancipation proclamation, and poetry readings. But the fact that community leaders in some cities have to ask black people from refraining from violence/gang activity on the day speaks volumes about critical problems and issues in the black community.

People who shout BLM reeeeeally don’t want to hear you talk about what actually takes most young black lives, it’s scary just how much the Democrats control them even down to telling them what to care about it only when it’s politically convenient

I thought it's supposed to go to the House first, then the Senate. How did the Senate pass it a day earlier? What am I missing, someone aware me.

Also, couldn't care less. Celebrate whatever you want. I'll take another day off. Just be sure to tweet about it with the same level of reverence you gave Memorial Day. #justanotherlongweekend

I think it's only tax bills that have to start in the House. Not 100% sure, though.

Conservative values, the nuclear family, importance of fatherhood, and actually addressing that black on black crime and possible solutions to it might help black people more than the liberal ideas of victimhood and forever oppressed and ignoring glaring statistical data.

Not that Republicans in power are much of a boon to black people, but I truly believe the democratic message to them is more harmful than helpful.

As long as i get it off paid, idgaf....but I don't work for the feds, so I'll just be paying taxes so they can sit their fat asses at home. There should be no federal holidays. Those mother****ers should be working 7 days a weeks to serve the people that pay their salaries.

people are also willing to take something (a free day off) the enable these agendas

I'd also go an say this is on of those "give an inch" instances where the other party will "take a mile"

“Juneteenth” has no meaning outside Texas

Amazing how it is said over and over and over that black on black crime is completely separate, unrelated, and inappropriate response to the subject of teaching about racism. (or cop on black crime etc)

Brb, colon cancer is a huge problem, let's bring awareness to it. You: Heart disease is a bigger problem, why don't you want to talk about that?!?!?!!!!

Yeah, let's keep reminding people about slavery instead of moving forward with our lives. Sh*t ended 150 years ago but fuktards still yapping about it like it was yesterday.

Every newborn child will be brainwashed with "Hey kid did you know that black people used to be slaves and were considered to be inferior?", instead of them just not giving a crap about it. Good job, morons.

And this post is exactly why people need to be reminded. "Just don't give a crap about it"

..then ends it with calling others morons. Real life Idiocracy here.
