JFL at anyone who disses vocational careers. Dead srs
I wish I could easily go back and enter one.
Stuff like Doctor, Dentist, Teacher, Nurse, Cop or even Tradies that map to a very structured ranking and pathway that you don't have to field through and know what to expect.
Meanwhile in the corporate world:
- Random job titles, such as Employee Scheme Engineer (an insult to the Engineering profession)... for an HR sloot.
- Random ranks where a Vice President can mean one thing in one company, totally different into another one.
- A huge jungle that sometimes I feel getting promoted is a matter of chance.
Mapping this out is like a 30% increase in working time. Combine that with office dross and we have a recipe for depression.

All jobs are terrible nowadays brah. You seriously think you want to be a cop right now? I quit being a nurse and for now I'm just doing some side gigs as a writer/author. Grass is always greener. While I was making 100k, the rat race just doesn't feel worth it at all. Would rather just fck off to SE Asia and be an English teacher at this point. I likely will, since I can be a digital nomad.

Whether nursing specifically was enjoyable I will not comment because that is up to the individual.
But the nature of the nursing profession, being vocational, you don't have to bang your head over the randomness and bloatedness of corporate careers.

I don't know a single person who disses being a Doctor, Teacher, Nurse, or a Cop. Hell, if I ever get tired of doing my current job I'd probably try and become a teacher just for dat dere summer vacation.

Do you know what all the great "vocational careers" you listed have in common? (And you can add pilots to the list)
A powerful union.
Bring back unions.

again, this is not about job satisfaction, this is a characteristic of the fukken corporate where I don't even know what anything means due to random job titles designed to keep attrition as much as possible.
