Anyone use Turo to rent out their car?

I’m considering renting out my 2019 4Runner.

I’m seeing 4Runners here rent out for ~$150. One guy has a 2018 with 80 rides renting for $180 a day. Let’s say a car is rented out for average of 2 days, that’s $29k from that car. Turo takes between 10-30% depending on your ranking it seems.

I don’t need to drive much anymore working from home and it wouldn’t be bad renting it out for 10-15 days a month. Plus I’m planning on the Tesla Truck when it comes out so I’m only going to keep my car for another 2 years or so. Turo income should cover depreciation and mileage and insurance, and I’ll just be getting passive income.

You probably need to figure in how much it costs to replace the engine or transmission (hello 7k neutral drop). And with it being an offroad vehicle suspension work because people drive over dividers and big rocks because they don't care.

Lol damn. In that case maybe I should buy a Tesla and rent that out. That has real time GPS you can always track the car.

I just watched a couple YouTube videos where guys in Vegas have their nice cars rented on Turo and easily cover payments and insurance and pull in extra. Denver’s not Vegas unfortunately for tourism, but Tesla’s and 4Runners do well here.

An 06 rents out for 100 a day and has a ton of rides.

My buddy came into KC and he rented a tuned Audi RS7 for the weekend. It was a blast driving it around. Just fuking lmfao at the people who think it’s financially smart to rent out their car on turo, let alone a tuned Audi RS7. I’d love to see the excel spreadsheets these people have showing how great of a decision it is…

I’m living at an apartment complex run by my step dad and there’s parking lot that’s viewable from my apt. I’m considering buying a used car in cash and maybe renting that for like $50 a day too.

How much did he pay per day? & I’m sure he kept it in decent condition despite likely flooring it at every chance

Pretty sure if they wreck your car then insurance is not covering that. Pretty risky.
