Domestic violence is one of the biggest problems in society

We don't talk about it enough. So many women, girlfriends, and wives are doing it tough. They're copping abuse - physical, mental, and emotional - from their husbands and spouses.

We need to speak up on issues like this. We need to raise awareness for what's really going on at home.

Because female to male is either by emotional abuse, family courts or financial

Education is probably the best bet from a community level for public health.

If we are going to have sex ed in the schools then we may as well have some education around healthy relationships and boundaries.

Most people first experience this in their family home as a child and then may repeat the same pattern which is normalized for them. Aware kids about what kind of behavior is not okay and doesn't have to be accepted in a relationship.

fun story of what police have to deal with sometimes

woman grabs knife threatens husband
husband pushes wife, grabs wrist, disarms knife
woman has bruise on wrist and wall is broken from being pushed
woman calls police says husband grabbed her and threw her against the wall and she puts knife back in drawer

police show up and woman is the one with the marks on her and the wall is broken and husband admits to pushing her and grabbing her but because she had a knife, wife says she never had a knife

what do you do?
You are absolutely NOT allowed to NOT take someone to jail or you get fired/written up and suspended for dereliction of duty.

ok? I mean sorry to hear that. But how have you made changes in your life to not be in that position again?

I’ve been there and done that. And learned I had a roll in it. 1. I ignored red flags early on. 2. I would forgive them after it happened. 3. I stayed when it was toxic despite things getting worse/more dangerous and nothing improving. 4. I didn’t ask for help instead I turned to unhealthy coping mechanisms like drinking.
