Apparently Subway tuna isn't actually tuna.

"No amplifiable tuna DNA was present in the sample and so we obtained no amplification products from the DNA," the email read. "Therefore, we cannot identify the species."



After a lawsuit alleged Subway tuna isn't actually tuna, the New York Times did its own analysis.

The newspaper used a commercial lab to analyze tuna samples bought in Los Angeles.

The sandwich chain has dismissed claims its tuna isn't 100% authentic and has called the lawsuit meritless.




I knew their chicken wasn't chicken but I thought at least their tuna was tuna.

Subway has been pure trash since about 2000. They were respectable in the 90's, but they've been the McDonald's of sub sandwhich joints since then. Plus everyone knew their meats were highly questionable by the mid-2000's. So this isn't exactly "news".
