Q: Do Democrats realize people in their own party are also anti-mask/vaxxers? (Srs)

So, someone today at the store muttered under her breathe as I passed by her (un-masked), "fking Republicans" probably because I did not wear a mask.

Now, Oregon has not removed their mask mandate until 70%, but I stopped wearing mine at the beginning of June.

Anyways, do any Democrats realize that there are people in their own party that are against all this mask mandate, vaccine BS or nah?

It just seems like its only one parties fault for the COVID deaths or one party is the party of anti-mask/vaccines.

EDIT: Also, can we somewhat keep this discussion normal, no need to flame others for no reason. Thanks.

Cheers!

I don't think it's that they don't trust em so much as they didn't give a flying fuk. In Cali there were untold numbers if businesses that simply did not comply, minority owned. Barbershops, bars, tobacco shops, liquor stores, restaurants, etc. Online we're in our hyper political bubble, however out in the real world most people generally don't follow politics. When they do they hate both sides, just one side a little less than the other. My old warehouse which was probably 75% Dem voters had zero compliance regarding masks unless we had a visitor or a manager was on the floor lol. Literally 1 person out of about a hundred I personally knew there caught the coof.

Republicans and Trump did a piss poor job defending themselves during Covid. It was amazing watching Democrats take total control.

Most Covid cases happened in blue states, yet Democrats came out looking good LOL. Republicans are a joke.

Because most of the leftists who don't get vaccinated are minorities. Democrats view minorities, especially black, as something akin to animals or children. They are merely victims, and can never be blamed for anything, so there failure it get vaccinated is actually the fault of society, which ultimately means it's the fault of Republicans.

I do not understand how its one parties fault for having members in your own party not wear masks or vaccinate?

This means that your party can do exactly as what you blame Republicans of doing, but its still their fault because of society.

None of that makes sense.

That's true. Cases are down now so it's tolerable. But I do have to wonder if we have this kind of distrust and fear of government, how can our nation deal with any disasters in the future?

They don't care because those people vote democrat no mattee what. Just like the liberal gun owners.... all they think is GOP=Evil.

I have talked to multiple people here, and they literally disagree with 100 percent of the democratic platform, and agree 100 percent with conservatives, but continue to vote for the left because they feel the right is bad and evil

You don't have to look very hard for that answer.... Getting their chit pushed in, and then crying about it. Sign of a weak people. Nobody is holding themselves accountable, let alone their leaders. A real shame.

Can u imagine if this were the UK during WW2, and Karen didn't want to hide in the bunker because muh freedomz? Jesus. The people of today could never handle anything like that. They speak so much of war, and even some of the men who fought in Afghanistan and Iraq brag about their exploits there. But none of these people have ever seen total war. They cannot imagine their cities burned in a nuclear hellscape, the economy completely gone, massive poverty, and a need to rebuild. Karen has no place in that world. Most of our people don't. They could never rebuild. They don't know anything. They need to understand the reality of the world we live in and how precarious this all is. Everything really hangs by a thread.

Asking people to wear a mask is too much. Imagine when a country actually does launch a deliberate biowarfare attack and you'll be asked to quarantine. Someday, all these things can happen. Maybe not today. Maybe not even in our lifetimes, but nothing good lasts forever. We need to be ready.

This pandemic should be considered a wake up call and a practice run. We sucked. We need to prepare.

From a non american, you guys seem very sheepish. Always talking about one herd vs another. Only Dems do this, only Reps do that. On the misc anything stupid is because they are Dems and that's what Dems do.

Whoever stated that these masks we are wearing (N95, regular masks and cloth masks) also messed up in that if this a bigger attack, their leadership and actions failed as well.

If we do get attacked with a deliberate bio-warfare agent, the same actions during COVID would fail as well.

A lot of distrust on both ends is because there was so much disinformation from both parties, not to mention a lot of governors broke their rules as well (Dems and Reps).

After seeing that, can you blame people not trusting or buying the severity of this virus?

Exactly why I posed this question.

I am apolitical, always have been, always will be and I am always amazed at the finger pointing from both sides - neither side is a saint.

Everyone talks about what a bad job Cuomo did/is doing, but a single event in Boston has been linked to almost 2% of all cases in the US.

The biotech conference would quickly become a superspreader event, launching the COVID-19 outbreak in eastern Massachusetts and causing as many as 330,000 cases of coronavirus worldwide, according to a study published in the journal Science.

According to the study, the conference was responsible for introducing more than 120 new coronavirus cases into the Boston area. More than a quarter of the introductions accounted for an estimated 85% of cases, the study found.

Nearly 100 people became ill following the Cambridge-based company's leadership conference, prompting the Marriott hotel to shut down in mid-March. But it was too late. Conference attendees had already hopped on planes to head home to destinations around the world, before many public health precautions were put in place.
