$400k of investments in index funds - should I diversify?

$550k+ if you include my 401k but no other options there. So all of my net worth is tied up in index funds (poverty rentcel checking in). Is this too concentrated/conservative?

I've thought about buying a rental property but property prices feel too inflated right now. Also seems like a PITA to manage. Have a small amount of crypto but don't really want to add more. What else can I invest in?

However with that much capital to have access to, you can also start getting into real estate. Good problem to have

Indexes typically double every 7-10 years. I wouldn't change much unless you make small bets in sectors or stocks. I formerly owned real-estate and it's just easier to make money doing nothing vs managing plebs.

30 years old and bragging about a 400k index fund and some poverty 401k? You bussing tables or something? I'd invest in a career or a business. You're not gonna make it with those numbers. ded fkn srs, *******.

edit: yeah buy some property. Preferable commercial so you're not bothered every time someone's dishwasher or toilet leaks. Better to deal with businesses versus some rentcell

came to say this. at 30, this seems good. maybe consider shifting a small percentage to bonds over the years to decrease your risk as you get older.

Or at least worst case scenario, he should put them in REITs if he can't buy the property itself.

Everyone in the thread is crazy. 550k if OP is only 30 is insanely good. Even if he doesn't put another dime in his investments, he will have 1.6M when he's 45, assuming it's in the SP500 with 7% ROI (which is reasonable). OP can easily retire in his 40's no problem.
