I consider this as bodybuilding

Unfortunately for you, thats not what the npc/ifbb considers the standard anymore in the open category.

Nick walker is at the top of the game in the open category. It is for mass monsters.

As you left out the rest of my post I dont like the way it is but thats why there is a classic and mens physique divisions.

Bigger, but not more aesthetic.

That’s what I hate. The physiques of the late 80s early 90s have the most appeal to me. But they’d be too small for open and too big for classic.

92 levrone/93 flex/haney etc.

Modern open men's bodybuilding has become a bad joke, let's be honest. It's for the most part a contest to see who can take the most drugs and eat the most food without dying.

I feel classic physique is gonna be the future. Which is actually like going back to the past if you think about it because classic physique is what bodybuilding used to be.

Haney would be to big but I think Levrone and flex would fit right into the categories depending on their height/weight. The division is def pointing more towards the mid/late 80s to the early 90s given the current competitors that are winning.

the problem with classic is that it's too easy to achieve. dont get me wrong they work their butts off, but if classic was as popular is mens open then there would be way to many competitors and a lot of difficulty distinguishing/ placing them. You wont say something like "oh that guy has better lat development" or this guy needs bigger legs, because far too many competitors would be able to easily achieve those marks. It would simply be about who has the best flow/symmetry... and thats still all genetics.

this

you are right, its about who takes the most OJ and eats the most. there are no secrets left in routine and exercises to uncover

I like reading stories about old days where arnold or other guys would focus on certain body parts moving forward and would be strategic about their approach for the next show

During the golden era of the 70s every man wanted to look like Arnie (who was the peak of bodybuilding at the time) and every woman wanted to fuk him. Compare that now where man and female both think these guys look like freakshow (outside of the niche audience that love it) and find the idea of looking/fuking them horrendous. Bodybuilding used to be about aesthetics, now it's just about mass freaks, it's sad to see.
There is but one path....we kill them all.

Why is the fact that it's dependent on genetics a bad thing? Being an expert/elite level competitor in basically every activity is mostly dependent on genetics.

I consider this as bodybuilding

Problem with that is pretty much anyone with some cell tech and 6 months can look like that. Hollywood actors achieve the bottom picture in 12 weeks. Take a look at some of the pics of Hemsworth for the next Thor movie. Especially against his size in previous movies. Unfortunately its just not a challenge to get a body like that for serious Body Builders anymore.

I watch the open as well for entertainment, also I don't give a fuk what NPC/IFBB say is bodybuilding. It's all subjective and the funny part to me is the gatekeeping behind it. The part where you guys say that because we don't like that 270lb cloud, we aren't fans of bodybuilding. This isn't true at all.

While celltech is obviously a part of it, but it is not at all about who takes the most. BBers earlier in their career are likely to be taking more than most pros. The nuances to the approaches the old school guys took still apply now, though there is admittedly a net increase in the drugs used.

All that being said, I do prefer the classic look over the whole mass monster thing, which is why i compete in classic over open, though i do not judge people who pursue it or over inflate the risks that they are taking.

Totally agreed. My posts ITT are aimed at the people taking it as an opportunity to just make exaggerated claims about bodybuilders and the risks involved as a whole, with most of them likely not even having experience or a passing interest in bodybuilding (lifting/exercise for general physical health is not bbing) or competing.

Just lol at the Misc.

How ya'll going to hate on this guy, people can totally look like this while being natty, so much jealousy.

I mean, just look at The Rock, he's got a huge social media following, he's a big movie star, and he posts inspirational videos on Instagram all the time - if you just put in the hard work like him, eat clean, and go to the iron paradise on Sundays while other people are spending time with their families, you could also look like the rock or the guy in this thread, both of whom are natty, especially the rock, because he's such a nice guy.

You guys just aren't dedicated enough. And you don't post enough inspirational messages on social media.

Did you guys know, every time you post a feel-goody "Iron paradise, cheat meal, 6am morning workout" video you gain +10ml testosterone bonus?

If you have a necromancer in your guild he can buff you +500ml test and give +50%xp bonus and +10 shield.

This generation of bodybuilders will start dropping like flies as soon as they start hitting their 50's

Lots of bodybuilders from arnolds generation are either dead of suffered massive strokes/heart-attacks, including arnold himself. Considering the state of things now compared to then, things wont be boding well in the near future imo
