‘Traveling As A Fat Person’: Woman Highlights The Problems That Skinny People Probably Never Think Of

a bubbly 27-year-old teacher and body positivity advocate who won the hearts of the internet with her fun and lighthearted TikTok videos. She covers anything from dealing with toxic friends to learning to love your body the way it is, and handling fatphobic remarks, making her content all too important in a society that’s still hostile to all bodies, shapes and sizes.

Recently Mary started a video series titled “Traveling as a Fat Person” where she revealed how the hotel she stayed in during a family vacation was not meant for plus-size guests.

Only in today's world would someone see the fact they are morbidly obese as okay and it must be all the hotels that are wrong. Zero accountability for themselves, as usual.

I'd love to see a video where the airline forces her to buy two seats because she's fat.

I fly a lot and I've never witnessed someone being asked to purchase an additional ticket or deplane because of their size. If it's an airline with assigned seating then it's more like they take all of their seat plus half of yours while they graze on snacks the entire duration of the flight.

and ffs if you've become so large that the average commercial grade toilet is too small for you then just go sht outside like the behemoth you are. Might as well dry off with the comforter since she doesn't understand how a towel works.

It's why I pay a little extra to go to business class - more room, but not as expensive as first class.

Though, I only travel once, if that, a year on a plane, so the extra money spent on the ticket usually comes out of my reward points.

It's supposed to, but the airlines rarely enforce it because it is a total meltdown by the customer when it does happen.

But if I got seated next to a morbidly obese person I'd be telling them to move me, I paid for a seat, not to be squashed.

Yeah. Hotels need to having toilets suitable 400pnd hambeasts. No one likes chit sliding down their inner thighs as they try to push out a trashcan sized chocolate log.

Oh chit, the 90pound Asian lady is now complaining that the toilets are too big, and she has to hold onto the rail to keep from falling into the toilet.

SHAME ON HOTELS. There should be multiple sized toilets in each room to accommodate every possibly sized person, regardless of how much of a minority that person is.



And I can fuking honestly relate to the towel situation as I'm 6'4 and a fat ****.

But god came and divined upon me that I can purchase a much larger towel and bring it with me to hotels.

Hotels should have rooms for "Plus size" people and charge them extra, everything has to be bigger so naturally it would be more expensive than a room designed to comfort 90% of population that falls into the range of "relatively normal".


Would love to see her reaction to that solution.

there's something fundamentally wrong with this way of thinking... brb blaming the world for not designing everything for absurdly large people

the funny thing is, you can easily use most things even if you're somewhat overweight. it only becomes a problem when you're morbidly obese, and anyone with half a brain will think to themselves "damn, i really phucked up and let myself go"

I buy two plane tickets when I fly short flights that don’t have first class. I’ve never been forced to buy two seats by the airline but I feel bad for the people that would be forced to sit next to me so just to be a decent dude and my own comfort I buy two seats.

On topic - that chick is absolutely disgusting and delusional as hell.
