Mindblow at the student loan scam in America
I'm not even going to discuss about the ridiculous cost of the tuition fees because that's an whole other subject.
How come so many people get into sometimes hundreds of thousand of dollars of debt for void and useless degress that will only lead them to make french fries in fast food restaurants ?
But "ma degree" "I'm college educated".
I got into 20k โฌ of debt for my business school but I started paying it while I was still studying and ended having 0 debt by the time I graduated : I was only 21 but obviously more mature than most people my age.
I originally studied Litterature and history in highschool and I loved it but even at age 17 I was smart enough to know that this kind of studies would lead nowhere.
I shifted to finance and now make a about 6 figures in Consulting.
Moral of the story : if you're dumb and have poor planning in your teens and early adulthood, chances are that will still be the case till the end of your life.

Every high schooler is told to follow their dreams while also never having to face any consequences to their actions so they pursue their passion of underwater basket-weaving and lesbian history studies at a private school for 60k a year, take out extra loans for new shoes, iphones, and starbucks everyday, then realize they have zero job prospects and join the democrat party. The end.

Boomers looove making fun of this.
The game is in relation to other people.
There is no reason tuition should cost more than 10k/yr anywhere, more like 3-5k most places.
They literally raise prices like they're trading stocks against the hedge of the maximum people will pay for.
What do they call this, fundamental attribution error? Where people react to superficial symptoms instead of realizing the causes?

There's truth on both sides. Tuition at Universities is generally pretty damn ridiculous, and imo is something that should be addressed.
There are also a lot of kids who are idiots who do nothing to mitigate the amount of debt they go into, and many of which also choose very useless majors...however there are also plenty who don't fall into that category.

there really isn't a useless degree (except from unaccredited schools) it comes down to what you want to do with that degree. Most non-specialized office jobs don't care what your degree is in. The problem is the kids that get random degrees then expect to find good paying jobs "in [their] field"

My guess is that a lot get trapped in the loans right out of high school, and a few years later they realize what they wanted at 18, is different from what they want at 23. But miss me with student loans, College aint for fcuking everybody.

I have two sons, first one, went to a school he can pay for every semester, works his azz off, no debt. 2nd son got a full ride and money left over in scholarships, invest in your kids and raise them correctly and you won't run into these issues.

The 7 great scams of America:
1) student loans - companies make taxpayers train their wageslaves, can also get cucked into useless degree
2) mortgage loans/renting - banks have cucked people into believing moving out is a rite of passage that must be done even incurring a 30 year debt to do so (or pay rent to someone else cucked by the bank)
3) healthcare - pay inflated exorbitant amounts for healthcare because muh free market with regulatory capture and not so free because a small number of firms dominate and use IP to gouge
4 ) weddings - pay insane prices for useless diamonds because it's a meme dumb sloots fall for, and spend insane amounts on a single party because "tradition"
5) funerals - cuck grieving families out of tons of money and make a big show out of someone's death
6) meritocracy - promise wealth and success for hard work and talent when wealth is pareto distributed and talent is normally distributed
7) defense - "serve" your country by making money for defense contractors and murdering people overseas in illegal wars of aggression when you aren't even "defending" anything at all...you're attacking, supporting an imperialist global hegemon
This whole country has been a scam by the elite to exploit the masses since its inception. We have always had elites cucking people going all the way back to the signing of the declaration of independence.
On the plus side, we do have a pretty good economy and it is nice to have shinies.

Its almost like Pell Grants and other forms of ultra-low interest financing (with zero credit history) for university education has caused institutions to raise prices as much as possible.
Andrew Yang (the presidential candidate and UBI-shilling *******) is an idiot but he was right when he was on Joe Rogan and said the only way to fix the student loan debt problem is to tell universities that they have to brutally slash 90%+ of their administrative budget and most of their other costs within one year.
Yang said they would all initially cry bloody murder and say its impossible, but added that if the government said "OK, then your university get perma-banned from all government subsidies and all government-backed loans and grants can't be used by your students" that they would be stuck between a rock and a hard place, and end up firing nearly all of their non-teaching staff to prevent bankruptcy and foreclosure.
