Would it be full retard to buy Xbox X just for Splinter Cell?

Already got a PS5. I want to play Chaos Theory. Also never played Splinter Cell 1, Pandora Tomorrow, or double agent

I thought about the Series S because it's cheaper, but I figure Xbox will come out with good games and I might as well max them out.

I could also play GTA 4!!

Dude the backwards compatibility with One/Series X consoles has always been incredible, breathes new life into modern classics, gives you a current gen way to enjoy past gens.

With the Series X you might as well try out Gamepass for a while, I got a One X and a Series X and my Series X is essentially a Gamepass machine but my One X is loaded with classics.

The xsx console is the closest I’ll likely come to pc gaming but aren’t they kind of interchangeable? Game wise go hand in hand? I’d be happy with game pass on an xsx.

Microsoft is launching monitors for the xsx too, any predictions or thoughts on those?
Because it’ll probably be in a different room than my Ps5 switch station anyway!

If you have a gaming pc or even a normal pc you'd be pretty stupid to buy a series x because just play it on steam or something lol.

If you dont have a PC then I'd say absolutely yes buy a series x ...gamepass and backwards compatibility is worth it.

Oh ****,

Is it worth going to play Dead Space seeing as I never played it? Will the Series X boost the graphics high enough for me to enjoy the game?

Hellblade is on there? I tried it on Switch and the audio gave me nightmares.
In all seriousness I never looked at the game pass library until recently.

Intelligent question here as I’m known for but can you lay these things on it’s side? My Ps5 is laying down. The xbone series x doesn’t need to be up vertically right?

Yeah I recently got a Series X and you can totally lay it on it's side if you want, they have it all setup for that on one side. I actually stuck mine behind my TV and have it vertical, the thing is massive when compared to my One X but even then I guess like the PS5 is somehow even bigger.

For the record it sounds kinda dumb and confusing when you call it an Xbone as that is short for Xbox One, the previous generation console.

Just got through Valravyn and the other fire path. Gonna finish that this weekend. Game has been a lot of fun, though the puzzles are a little easy. Playing with headphones is definitely creepy with the voices.

How many parents bought the wrong Xbox? ie the xbone x when they should’ve bought the series instead!
The two have been confusing from the beginning.

I worked at Target and once a naive but pretty hot milf asked where to buy Mario on the Xbox 360. It was funny as chit.

I don't know how you could confuse that but then again lots of people are pretty phucking dumb these days. It's like confusing a PS4 Pro with a PS5 Pro if they had one just because they both start with PS and end with Pro. Still I do remember hearing about a bunch of people ordering One X's back when the Series X launched, probably just parents thinking they got "that new Xbox X" for their kid because all the Series X's were all sold out on Amazon.

Funny enough the Xbox One X has really gone up in price these days, my goldrush edition now selling for $700 used. Console market is crazy in 2021.

No.

Splinter Cell is GOAT, and there are BC SC games on there you cant find on any modern console including PC (excluding some crazy crack/emulation I don't know about). I bought them all as soon as they came to Xbox and I just started one of them on my Series X a few days ago. Fuk, I love this series.

Series S and X are great consoles. If you travel a lot get the S so you can still game pass and back compat.
If it's just to leave at home get the X.

Check that you can actually purchase those games, theres a few older Xbox games I want but the store won't let me buy them.

There are some differences to gamepass on Xbox and PC too.

From what I have seen the only games that will work on Xbox One that won't work on Xbox Series consoles is the old Kinect games. Should be fine with Splinter Cell, I got it and it showed up on my list of games I can download.

It won't let me buy the last-gen Forza games.

Really? Just checked and they apparently aren't on sale anymore. Probably due to some licensing issues, happens to older games with licensed content like that. Sucks because Forza 6 is probably the best in the series. At least they printed them on disc so if you really want to play them just buy the game discs and pop them in the disc drive, they should work just fine. I already own the games luckily so I can download and play them if I want to, but Forza 7 is still on sale if you want one digitally.

even the "normal pc" part. People vastly overestimate how strong pc users rigs are on average. so the people always saying pc master race.... they aren't the average pc user. The new consoles punch above what the typical pc user has. Forums just tend to gravitate towards those who have higher end rigs.
