I WISH I didn't have to care but when these people get into power and push their religion on millions of people thats where I take issue with it.

FYI George phuckin Bush said "god" told him to invade Iraq.

You don't have to believe in God to find some value in what religions teach. And you don't have to take every lesson it tries to impart. But even today, religion still offers a pretty good guide on how to live our lives to be responsible members of a society.
I don't need religion to scare me into being a good person. Thats just common sense, but I do know, without the belief in religion, a lot of people would rape and pillage with no regard if they didn't believe they would be punished for their "sins" in an afterlife, so in that regard. religion is a necessary evil.

Not sure if srs.
Atheists don't have communities, it's just random people scattered across the world, often these who can simply use their logic and common sense to question life and beliefs and not just blindly follow some book. Often enough, it's the intelligent people who don't need or want to be identified.

How would religious communities be better? Bunch of potatos sitting in there singing and praying to absolutely nothing, a man made idea that completely overtakes your reasoning and ability to think critically. No one is saying religious people are bad, I wouldn't mind some after church BBQ type of a scenario, and all other good vibes that can come from it but in overall religious people who believe in man made religions like Christianity, Islam and the likes are a definition of lower IQ.
Religious communities in the 1st world nations are good because it's just an excuse to get together and eat some food. Look at how peaceful their communities are elsewhere in the world, or better yet the dark ages. Get burned by questioning the almighty.

War is 100% of the time about money. What they tell you means nothing. Follow the money. Who gets rich from war? Who suffers? You honestly believe we invaded Iraq because bush said god told him too? Just lol

Wars are about money and power but let's not kid ourselves, religious is also up there with it. Iraq is a pretty poor example no matter what Bush said, but thousands of wars have been fought in the name of God. Fanatic religious ideology is still around even now, it's just not common in the first world. Look at how many Islamic nations are still chopping each other heads off in the name of God.

I agree that maybe thousands of years ago that religion played a big part, but not modern wars. Definitely not any of the wars this century or last. I get your point about the middle east and those crazies, but at the same time I think their leaders play them like fiddles and use religion to justify the wars because the people eat it up and accept it. Religion is a double edged sword. It's good and it's dangerous all at the same time based on the person.... Much like all things in life.

Exactly. Religion is generally for the weak minded who can't live a moral life without some magic wizard in the sky telling them what to do.

The term God could be anything, perhaps just an entity that created the Universe and let things develop according to the laws of physics. In this sense, evolution has nothing to say about the existence of a God.

If we are talking about the Christian God of the Bible, it still doesn’t necessarily disprove that concept, but it does create major problems with the literal interpretation of Genesis and the concept of Adam- pretty important concept in that religion, with the fall of Man and original sin.

Evolution does reduce the role of God, and the need to use God as an explanation for the diverse life we see around us, but it does not disprove some God existing outside the universe. But when you look at us- the product of a long series of evolution dependent on chance events, extinctions (of which there were a staggeringly huge number over billions of years), and random mutations (acted on by the powerful and lawful concept of natural selection) it is fairly evident there is no grand plan here- that everything was made with us as the end, or anything like that.

It is notable that life is a pretty fascinating phenomenon. While the universe is huge, there are more viral particles than stars, for example, and there is something quite fascinating about the self replicating nature of life. Life does seem to be built into physics as well. There are some weird things that seem almost too coincidental for our universe. All the fine tuning issues in physics illustrate this. Perhaps our understanding is incomplete and there is a reason or perhaps something suspicious is up...or perhaps it simply had to be this way for life to emerge. Who knows? Even when taking an anthropic approach to physics, there is still a lot of unexplained fine tuning. It's kind of a red flag, but we can in no way conclude the universe was created deliberately or anything. Still, it's interesting.

Once humans attain immortality there will be no need for God, the only people who will believe at that point will be the people who worship death(or fear life).

religion is good for its practical applications

wanna cheat? hold this stoning real quick
gay people? let me direct you to the nearest rooftop
incels? lets fix that with forced marriage
fear of death? lol

the list goes on. and the best part is that you cant really attack religion, its a protected characteristic

of course, you get the usual wave of atheistcels arguing like a 12 year old against religion. but after a few years, these same atheists realize they cant control their woman, get blackpilled and start posting their problems on the misc

Spoiler!

religion is a pragmatic code of conduct developed by and used by alphas. atheism is for frail framed, weak minded, low IQ, beta male who want to score gossip points

I've been an atheist a long time, but it seems that most people that don't believe have just replaced God with science, political ideology, and the government. That's arguably worse.

I don't associate with other atheists or religious people, I just want to be left alone. It seems like that feeling is more prevalent among the religious community. So, if it came down to it, I would throw in with the type of people that have the same ideals as the people that founded America.

Relationship with God/Jesus is what you want. Two very distinct things.

Because to someone who doesn't believe in god, death is even more horrifying.

I think you might come back after you die too for fleeting moments by chance in an endless state of chaos and confusion.

People don't want to risk pissing off God right before they go meet him. I think more are worried about P3do democrats than they are religious figures, way more democrats P3do's to worry about. There are plenty of democrat P3do sympathizers alone in this section like Ari, NYP3do, wincel, etc.
