How dafuq to people cope with their random configuration of a corporate job?

Random Joes who have a certain configuration* in a job that is less standardised than vocational ones (Med, Law, Police, Nursing etc) probably have no idea how to avoid the cog-in-machine design where you can stagnate and don't have a clear path.

All of these configurations have some sort of forced specialisation and so specific random word-soup titles that you have no idea what is going on.


* E.g Operations Analyst working in the Operations (obviously) division in, say, Financial services. You are in a specific function (Operations) and then in a specific sub-functions (e.g supply chain) and then you have a specific project team and it gets to a total soup (e.g "Project Portfolio Delivery Associate" - like wtf man?)

Stuff like Sales is more standardised but you still specialise in selling in X industry so you will lock yourself into that.
