Check out Bluey ASAP. Best kids show on TV and the Dad is a role model and not a buffoon.

Lmao, went over to my brothers last night and he put that on. I never knew about it until then and can confirm its hilarious and it's spot on what I go through.

The ice cream episode is what I hear with both my girls sharing ice cream also the movie theater one was good. Have only watched a few but my kids enjoyed them.

Brilliant show. A few of the episodes will hit you in the feels too. The episode "Takeaway" feels Oscar worth if you're a parent. Absolutely hammers you in the feels in 7 short minutes.

I'll second (actually I think we're up to 4th) MrBourbon's recommendation. I picked it up after he made an aware thread on it at some point in the past. I have 5 kids (3 boys, 2 girls) from 2 to 15 and it sucks them all in. Wife and I laugh at it, too. Very well done show.

Das it. Welcome

@niospe. Welcome sir. Respect

@farmersson thanks bro

@mrb and the rest who have joined. Much love dudes. Thank y'all so much for the good info. And yes, my daughter brings me little handfuls of grass and flowers saying "dada fowers (flowers)" and she gets so excited that I acknowledge them or act excited. Even if they bring you a small leaf, be involved. Makes a world of difference in their development and self esteem

Not quite that situation but props for dealing with it, my newborn had jaundice at the same time my 18 month old had some tummy issues going on. In today’s world you can’t really trust much stuff with your kids. Even if they’re watching Blues Clues on YouTube there’s a good chance that insane levels of wokeness are being pumped into them. Your best bet is to guide them towards the better tv shows and even then keep an eye on what they’re watching….or better yet guide them away from screens altogether, though that seems increasingly difficult.

I also recommend this podcast for all parents, and the need for it is becoming more apparent by the year.

https://www.artofmanliness.com/artic...-gift-failure/

If you’re a parent, you likely want your kid to flourish and succeed. And according to my guest today, the best way to do that is to let your kid fail.

Her name is Jessica Lahey and she’s a teacher and the author of the book, The Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can Succeed. Today on the show, Jess gives us a quick overview of the history of parenting in America and why it’s gotten more protective and more involved in the past few decades. We then discuss the many downsides of helicopter parenting and why letting your kids fail is so important for their long-term development. Jessica then gets into the nitty gritty of areas where you should let your kid experience failure and how to make sure these failures become learning experiences.

Grats BRAHS! Would have loved to have a boy but it wasn't in the cards. Also wanted them closer together but it was a lot harder the second time. Almost gave up, SO glad we didn't.

Beary wait for the episode "Bin Night". The last 5 seconds kills me.

I think there's three or four of us now. One thing that I didn't consider fully is the impact of going from 4 to 5 kids on transportation. With 4 kids you can all fit in a crew cab truck with bench seats. If you go to 5 it's minivan or three row SUV. Wife loves the minivan convenience and size for driving, but I'm yearning for an SUV for camping. Life would be simpler if we still fit in a truck. Hotel rooms are a problem, too.

Yeah, we've had to get 2 hotel rooms before.
Lol.

We basically have one van that can hold everyone, and I'm lucky that my oldest is driving now and can sometimes assist with transportation

Nice, mine is just starting. Being driven by your kids is a whole new experience, too. He's doing great, but you really forget how much you had to learn. Actually that last sentence applies to so much stuff.

I’m good with either as long as healthy, I’d like another boy so he can have a brother to rough house and look after. My brothers were huge in my life’s direction and helping me in general. Would like 3 or 4 total but the mrs not having fun this pregnancy, 24/7 nausea and dry heaving.
