I was wondering where my stalker Frezcuck went lol. Isn't it weird that this whole back and forth between me and you started because you BEGGED me give you insight on ATC because you recently got fired from your job and weren't sure what you wanted to do.

How's Mommy and Daddy's house now that you had to move in with them because you're not a man and can't provide for yourself you friendless incel. So is the arrangement that you take out the trash and you get to live with them rent free as a 27 yr old loser?

Driving a truck isn't that bad if you have a dedicated cross country route. You can live in New Jersey but enjoy the sunrise in Colorado and the sunset in California every week. Lot lizards at every truck stop ready to hop in and polish your knob for $30.

Where it gets scary is going in and out of NYC, heard guys with Mideastern accents on the CB asking how to avoid a low bridge and everyone just making fun of them, that seems kind of terrifying.

Tower you work basically at the airport. For enroute there are only 22 facilities, and they are mostly right outside of a major city almost all in basically a big building away from the airport.

Training depends on the facility but a lot of studying maps, approach plates, LOA's/SOPs, and learning phraselogy (the way to speak to pilots). Even when you're a full CPC you will still need to read new updated agreements and how airspace changes.

Below is a list of facilities around the country and their pay/level along with how many work there, how long training lasts, etc.

You can go to a Lvl 6 tower (low level) in TX somewhere and make 100k a year with differentials, but also only work with 11 people in that tower. You compare that to an enroute facility that is a lvl 12 and you have about 300 controllers in the building that you work with and are making 150k+ easily without differentials.

Plus I have an office full of people in cubicles to actually do my work for me. It seems I have the better end of the deal.

I'm not jay****s biggest fan but this thread is pretty dope. I like aviation and think this would be a cool role.

I worked in finance all my life so staring at screens all day is not an issue. I guess the fact that peoples lives (passengers, crew, etc) would be in my hands could be stressful but if I had nothing better to do, I'd give this a shot. I know TSA agents that make a decent living too.

Wonder how much per year the FAA controllers who clearly tracked all 4 flights on 9/11, relayed intel on location and altitude with ample time for a jet to intercept, but watched as 3 flew into buildings and 1 "crashed" were paid to hush hush about it.

Probably turned off their transponder or switched their code so they don't show up on radar anymore. Basically went NORDO and any pilot further who went NORDO was deemed a threat. Plenty of stories of pilots, even in C172's who refused to go down after a national ground stop and we're threatened with being shot down
