I think Djokovic will go for it. A golden slam this year would cement his place as the unquestioned GOAT.

"He can win another 10 Grand Slams"

Made this statement in 2016 when his son was on 11.

if you guys haven't read Open, Andre Aggasi's book, i highly recommend it. i didn't really know who he was, i caught the end of his career growing up when he was bald. his book is so sick. it's about tennis but he's so relatable. i really enjoyed it.

No idea why he wasted his time going there. When you've won 20 slams you don't need to play in front of empty stands.

He's got to be careful because a fresh and well rested Nadal will be gearing up for 21 in NY. Oz right now is a complete joke with regards to covid. Made zero progress in 18 months. I could easily see the Aus Open being given the flick like F1 and he'll miss out on yet another opportunity like Wimbledon 2020.

Man, wtf happened to Osaka? This chit with her is getting worse and worse. She is treated with such kid gloves by the media that the moment she gets asked one question with even a hint of criticism, she starts crying? Whoever her handlers are, they are doing her a huge disservice. Major meltdown incomings.

In other news, more surgery for Fed and Rafa shuts it down for the season.

you know it's coming.

Even if the lanky Italian wins 2 sets that's nothing a good ol' bathroom break can't fix.

Always getting your hopes up.

My prediction a couple of years ago was Berrettini would be a Top 5 player and he's not far off however without a decent BH you're expecting miracles if you think he can take 3 sets off Djokovic. Novak is vulnerable to big hitting off both sides like peak Stanimal but that ship has sailed. There's no one capable of that hitting right now over 5 sets. You know he's always got another defensive gear to frustrate these millennials.

This.

Just get this over with and give him the trophy.

I don't think Zverev has the mental fortitude to maintain the kind of level needed to beat Djokovic in BO5.

No question tanking the first set has become an effective strategy worth employing against everyone not named Nadal.

Think about it. Today's social media addicted millennial flakes have the attention span of a goldfish. They're all amped up to get off to a strong start so he drags it out then lets them have it. Then he breaks early in the 2nd and goes to work cutting down the angles and slowly suffocating them. They fold like a cheap suit.

These new guys have no VARIETY, their plan A,B,C,D,Z is to try to hit the opponent off the court.

Medvedev surprised me in the 2019 USO final, he showed a lot of strategic prowess, and the guts/ talent to execute it.
