Context: this is from their statement on Black Friday 2020, 8 (!) months after the Covid hit. They canceled that year Black Friday due to the overload.

"Our #1 goal is to get back to a sense of normal shipping time frames. In order to do this we have:

- Hired close to 600 new team members, taking our headcount from 650 to 1250.
- Purchased over 100,000 meals from local restaurants to help support the community while feeding our team.
- Expanded our footprint in operations from 650,000 SQ FT to 1,450,000 SQ FT.
- Increased our steel consumption from 150,000 to 500,000 LBS per day.
- Increased every aspect of our operations capacity by factors of 5-10X.
- Moved all operations to 24/7.
- Fired up four foundries to make kettlebells and other cast items."

Mind blown at that amount of growth, taking into account that they are just one of the numerous manufacturers with overpriced stuff that not everyone could afford for home use.

And this is the business that is not directly related to Covid, unlike sanitizers or masks manufacturers.

They make quality stuff. I can confirm I’ve dropped about $1800 on stuff since last year on them.

I bought bars and weights from the pre covid and can say for an internet CrossFit hype company their chit was still better than everyone else's.

Post covid is different. Hiring twice the staff while producing 4 times as much goes against typical business principles but maybe they have more efficient manufacturing now.

Everytime there's a lockdown/new community cases i know companies who instantly start doing 6 figures daily in orders on those sorts of equipments (auto sanitizing machines etc).

rogue is expensive af

i know a lot of small and local fitness stores would be sold out of this stuff. even a lot of rogue stuff would be sold out, it was crazy. you literally needed to put notifications on every single item to be aware of when it would be put back in stock, but even then it would sell out very quickly. despite the prices people were still buying a phuck ton of their chit. it is high quality stuff tho.

there is a lot of fitness enthusiasts out there with money who either were locked down due to covid and couldn't get access to the gym or people in general who used covid as an excuse to build a home gym for the long-term. not really surprising. to them money is of no consequence and rogue was one of the few companies out there that had stock.

i personally bought adjustable dumbbells for the equivalent of 400 USD. Goes up to 90 lbs in increments of 5. Would have costed me 800 USD if I decided to get the equivalent from Rogue.

I have pairs of these in 13-44 lbs. Very nice.

Was crazy when weights were selling for double the price. I'd see straight robbery on ******** marketplace.

I've had my setup for like 10 years and during college. It was sometimes a huge pain in the ass to store, and for a few years it was at my parents.

But man, when covid hit I never appreciated my dusty ass garage and Olympic weights/ dumbbells so much. Have an old bike too and ended up buying a heavy bag.

Now I train like rocky. Gonna buy me a chicken soon for cardio. Still have my gym membership though for the view

The thing with periods like this is, you're either in position to grow or die. I'm guessing there's other companies dying right now that'll free demand for Rogue. The problem they are probably considering is the COVID situation might kill gyms opening and staying open which might kill some of the demand. Might not be such a problem if turmoil in gyms now causes opportunity for gyms to open in the future (more $$$) but damn these numbers are insane right now so they must be doing something right.

Furniture biz I used to work at which was part retail part manufacturing stayed open through all the lockdowns. They said "fuk it, not closing till they make us close." Ended up working out, made a massive mint last year.

Know a guy that works there. He's making bank, good pay plus crazy overtime.
