No, that's if he's been holding less than a year, e.a. short term capital gains. Since he's been holding since 2019, he'll only pay long term

Market timing is difficult, but I certainly would have taken partial profits in this scenario. Fear and greed is what drives us, though. And it's fear and greed that drive us to make poor decisions.

Feels.

I'm down around 75% over the last 3 months. Hoping this bear cycle closes out towards end of summer and we bounce.

Glad I cashed out a chunk of profits a few of weeks ago.

no for crypto the tax is only 22% here in Norway no matter if you HODL for a few hours or years. 3 mil is enough to be set for life, i will never understand why he did not cash out at that point. its never worth the risk at that point

If there was liquidity to exit, you “ had” it.

Lol at noobs that don't know about alt coins. Some coins went up 100x+ in this bullrun like in 2017.

So let's say he invested in a coin that did 30x, that's $300k, then he put that into another coin. 10x and you have 3 mill.

Brutus, That's what happens when you hit the DIGITAL lottery same with the REAL life lottery GETTING lucky doesn't provide you with the knowledge and SKILLSET to actually manage or MAKE intelligent financial decisions when IT didn't take knowledge to accomplish such a fortune.

I had this argument with friends several times. Even at $3 mill you can exit at the click of a button depending on the liquidity. To me that qualifies as having the money and losing it if you hold.

In 2017 I invested $7k and peaked at $380k, got out with $18k after the crash due to greed in 2018. There was enough liquidity to sell at any point, I had already sold $200k at the click of a button to test it. So in my mind I lost $360k, anything else is cope.

"You havent lost anything until you realise profits bro" is a gambling mindfuk designed to make you think you didn't fuk up so you keep playing the game srs. If you walk into a casino with $100 and end up with $1m in chips, if you don't walk to the counter and cash in, then keep gambling and go back to $100, you lost $1m, simple as that.

You are basically obsessed with ur "friend" aren't you? I think I have seen maybe 20 posts of u talking about that same shiet, you are like a broken record.

I think deep down u are bitter he made so much "possible" profit, and you have been getting rekt in stocks since uve start investing.

But guess what boyo? Most likely he will make not 3 but 10 million or more in a few months/years if he holds, and you will be still sucking hard fat cocks.

Stay bitter and mad *******.

Not true at all. Depends on what he made his money on and what he's holding now. I'm assuming he bought alt coins in the ~10s of millions marketcap. Many of them did not reach their previous ATH this bullrun so HODLing doesn't always work.

But you can almost guarantee there will be another bull run mid 2023-2024. It seems to follow a pattern of 6 month bullrun followed by 2-3 year bear market, 2013-2014, 2017-2018, 2020-2021. Smart money will invest in ~10mill-100 mill marketcap coins in late 2023.

Won't bounce back until around 2023 if it follows the other bull run cycles

Cope. He had $3mill in his account. He didn't click a button. He lost $2.5m. It's that simple.

Because getting in and out of positions based on price action, news, etc is actual trading which requires proper knowledge.

It's easier to just hold and hope random internet people aren't mistaken about the grandiose price targets. To the moon lol.
