Freedom and anti-lockdown protests in Australia tomorrow.

Anyone going?

Which city, if so? Wondering how big these are gonna be. Hopefully big and enough people gather en masse. Tired of covid propaganda and lockdowns.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

A young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.

The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."

The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

Indeed. I'm going to the one in my city. Thing is, people are scared of getting singled out and fined or arrested. But at some point you tip the threshold of "enough" and you get a breakaway effect where there are simply too many to arrest or fine or bully. It's just that individual fear of getting singled out which needs to be surmounted.

If you think a protest is a party then look at what's happening to your Dutch neighbors.

Or look at your own history and how Poland managed to remove the Soviets.

As an American, I hope Australians can get their rights back.

It may take time to build up a significant popular movement, but I would not surprised if a lot of people are already prepared to protest.

I find posters on here, actually. A few things on youtube and google too. I just searched around for "freedom protests July 24th" and "anti-lockdown protests Australia".
"Various activist groups and community organizations will hold demonstrations in cities across Europe July 24 to denounce COVID-19-related restrictions. The gatherings are organized as part of a broader international action dubbed the "Worldwide Demonstration" which will take place in cities worldwide; multiple civil society groups have expressed support for the action.

Demonstrations likely to attract the most support and result in the most disruption include:

Athens, Greece: Thiseio, 19:30

Copenhagen, Denmark: Nytorv, 18:00

Glasgow, UK: Olympic Monument in Glasgow Green, 13:00

Helsinki, Finland: Eduskuntatalo, 14:00

Kyiv, Ukraine: Mykhailivska Square, 13:00

Leeds, UK: Leeds Town Hall, 13:00

Lisbon, Portugal: Palacio de Belem, 15:30

Madrid, Spain: Plaza Colon, 20:00

Oslo, Norway: Eidsvoll Plass, 17:00

Rome, Italy: Pineta di Castel Fusano, 15:00

Stockholm, Sweden: Kungstradgarden, 13:00

Tallinn, Estonia: Freedom Square, 14:00

Tirana, Albania: Skenderbeg Square, 19:00

Thessaloniki, Greece: Lefkos Pirgos, 19:30

Vienna, Austria: Platz der Menschenrechte, 12:00

Warsaw, Poland: Plac Defilad, 12:00
"

No doubt that certain social media platforms are censoring the organizers.

As goofy as the misc can be, it's not being actively censored by anti-resistance policies like many websites are.

America is split in half regarding the restrictions, but overall it has managed to push the dial back significantly.

These demonstrations are undoubtedly crucial for the future of the Western world across the globe.

Poland once lived under an authoritarian Soviet government.

In the late 1950s there were massive protests that led directly to Poland regaining autonomy and freedom.

There were many similar demonstrations among former Soviet satellite nations.

My point is that protests against authoritarian measures are effective at scale.

In Poland they brought out hundreds of thousands of people.

Well then take a look at protests in Britain.

LONDON, April 24 (Reuters) - Several thousand anti-lockdown demonstrators marched through central London on Saturday despite restrictions on mass gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event was billed by organisers: "Unite for Freedom".

The protesters view COVID-19 restrictions as unnecessary and a breach of their human rights. They oppose vaccinations, mask-wearing and so called health passports.

Media reports put numbers at about 10,000, though the Metropolitan Police did not confirm a figure.

Protesters chanted "freedom" and "take off your mask" and some carried placards saying: "No to vaccine passports" and "Lockdowns kill". Most were unmasked.
Protesters chanted "freedom"
If your own people marching and demanding freedom doesn't touch a nerve then I'm not sure what to tell you.

Soviet measures were authoritarian, that's my entire point. Lockdown measures are also authoritarian.

I prefer freedom to authoritarianism. Most people in the West prefer freedom, it defines us as a people.

I left for a reason. The dickheads would rather infect their grandma than skip a barbecue.

There has been a strict pattern in cases in Poland. Government opens chit up, people start holding parties, meeting family members and cases rises to 40k a day a week later. Close chit, it goes down quickly. No curfews implemented. Now that vaccinations are freely rolled out and mask mandates are still upheld indoors, cases have flat lined. We'll see what happens when delta gets here, because tourism, but Poland has had one of the least authoritarian approaches compared to other countries and handled the pandemic much better still. So those twats in Warszawa can do one. That's become such a western city slowly filling with LGBTQ types over the years every other city calls it a joke.

I think what you guys need to understand is that lockdowns are not all that helpful, authorities force a false dichotomy in lockdown or bust, lockdowns are tremendously damaging, lockdowns are based on obsolete and one-dimensional policy intiatives and speculative epidemiological data over 18 months old and we know now that to be false.

I could go on and on. Intimidating people to get vaccinated is unethical, people have a natural right to earn a living, the news is omitting the fact that Delta variant is just the way viruses reach equilibrium with their hosts, you can't develop a public health plan that only features Covid and nothing else.....

And not the least of which, is the dangerous precedent this sets. The state will impose a lockdown, instantly, the second any novel pathogen appears.

A pandemic, especially an asymptomatic one, is no excuse to abuse human rights.

The media is lying to you, those "cases" are based on openly flawed tests that give false positives.

Why do you take those figures at face value without considering how they come up with them in the first place?

Same goes for the death counts, they are based on the same methodology, and many of the "COVID deaths" are untested patients.

I can see exactly how it influences your way of thinking. You see these numbers and it makes you afraid, and that's what justifies the authoritarianism.

If you don't believe me, then read the actual scientific research instead of taking everything from TV and social media at face value.

Regarding false positives:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7850182/

Regarding false death counts:

https://www.aamc.org/news-insights/h...-s-complicated

The danger of the virus is greatly exaggerated, and that's the actual science behind it, not the sensational media spin.

You're mistaken in that I follow the media, I track cases using Worldometer. Your argument may resume but please understand I'm not a media shill. Guess what? I also left Britain because of...the media.

So what should the precedent be, that we ignore it? And then a dangerous strain turns up, what then? The precedent should be that it lasts a month at best because everyone follows pandemic protocol.

Not have mass gatherings. Not wearing masks improperly because "they're uncomfortable". Even if they don't work, the argument "I'm uncomfortable" falls flat on its face, excuse the pun. It's gone on this long not because of the media but because of personal entitlement that can't uproot life for one day nevermind a month.

Instead of lockdowns, implement focused protection. A perfectly reasonable and workable alternative.

Good luck to all protesters out there don't be afraid to get physical. Last year's US riots have shown that the people need to stand up to the oppressors. Small businesses have suffered enough.

Let's be real, people would find reasons to protest against that. People just don't like being told what to do even if it's good for them (speaking generally, not specifically about this). We shouldn't follow a government blindly but neither should we assume we know best just because "I got autonomy". There are Karen's out there who indirectly killed or permanently damaged the health of family member because of their autonomy. And they still don't consider themselves accountable.

Yes, it should be ignored, just as these massive media corporations should be ignored.

Their sensational reporting on the virus is promoting the fear that manufactures compliance.

The website you use for tracking the cases gets its numbers through the same flawed and biased methodology.

As of writing, the most commonly-used COVID tests give a very high rate of false positives.

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/...cal-laboratory
The same test would only have a PPV of approximately 30% in a population with 1% prevalence, meaning 70 out of 100 positive results would be false positives. This means that, in a population with 1% prevalence, only 30% of individuals with positive test results actually have the disease.
Simply using the tests in large quantity will statistically lead to reports of higher cases and deaths, despite the fact that these numbers are based on false and flawed testing.

Those tests are used both for counting total cases and for attributing deaths, along with the untested death attributions in the earlier source from the academic medical community.

It's not about comfort, it's about obedience and compliance. Complying with lockdown policies means giving up your right to protest, speech, and movement.

That's the purpose of these protests, to regain these rights.

Inversely, that's the method by which governments across the world are trying to extend their powers and deny our rights.

Excuse the double post. One thing I definitely concede is that long term lockdowns have far greater implications than will be admitted. I read a study last year on how much it impacted children, both their mental state and their education level. What I'm advocating for is that it's dealt with within a month through people doing what's necessary instead of what has got us to this point.

Spotted the guy with NO LIFE. This pandemic is the most exciting thing to happen to you in YEARS I bet. You hope this goes on forever because you can exercise your proclivities for petty tyranny on strangers and feel justified. "Wear your mask, stay inside! Do as you're told!".

To your last point, bro everyone DID what we were instructed to in the beginning. We stayed in, we distanced, we sanitized and we shut down.

The goal posts moved from flattening the curve, to lightening the load on hospitals, to preserving PPE, to dropping deaths, to dropping CASES, now it's to ERASE CASES FROM ALL VARIANTS. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN, IT CAN NOT HAPPEN.

It went from a month, to 3 months, to 6, to a year, now almost 2 fukking years of this bullchit we are at.

You can't control people forever, and everyone now knows it has all been a massive power grab after the first few months. We all know enough about this to see the bullchit. The damage this is doing to children, people's mental health, businesses and personal lives is just far worse than risking a 90 year old grandma bed chitter dying. Your tiny brain can't comprehend it.

Petty tyrant scum. Go for another long walk, off a fukkin cliff.

Perhaps to you, but when people are literally saying "I don't want to wear a mask, it makes my face hotter" then the writing is on the wall. God forbid something comes that a mask does fully protect from, proven 100% and they can't comprehend their nose should be covered too.
