My good friends went from $45K between them to over $240K per year when they started their business and it made them more of what they already were, like Swamp Thing movie from the 80's. They were already sort of white trash, so then they became decadent white trash.

I am definitely in the camp that money makes someone more of what they are...it doesn't necessarily change them. This is definitely different than just saying it makes them who they are. Its a more extreme version of it.

The people who actually change are the people around a person with money. Don't get me wrong, there are tons of people who don't look at a person different if they find out they work at Burger King or they are a super millionaire hedge fund manager. They judge the person for the person. But for so many other people when they find out someone has money their interactions with the rich person completely changes.

I think it depends on how they came about with that money. If I won the lottery I would be more inclined to be irresponsible and kind of snobbish. If I got it through hard work and sacrifice I would be more humble and likely greedy about keeping what I earned.
